The AFRICAN MINING ALLIANCE (AMA) has been founded as a non-profit organization
in South Africa in October 2013 with the support of the United Nations Institute for
Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ). This Non-Government Organization (NGO) is launched by a number of seasoned
professionals; several of which come from leadership positions within other mi

ningrelated
NGOs, whereas others come from academia, the investment field, industry
experts, and administrative and political personnel – all with the goal of creating the
most influential African Mining industry association. The AMA’s primary purpose is to serve the “Greater” African Mining Industry, which
includes not just miners, but the whole spectrum of companies, associations,
government entities, universities, and related individuals who somehow play a role in
the African Mining Supply Chain and Sustainable Development. Burkina Faso
