Meet Khanyisile Khumalo ❤️

Khanyisile is a Student Social Worker placed at the Department of Social Development, serving the Freedom Park and Klipspruit communities.

She recently visited Ikusasa Lethu Youth Project as part of an older persons abuse awareness and prevention programme, bringing together relevant stakeholders to share services and support available to older persons.

Mpho and the AW360 team are at Ikusasa Lethu Youth Project, supporting caregivers with mental wellness education and support.

Caregivers play an important role in supporting beneficiaries and communities through outreach programmes, making their own wellbeing equally important. 🧠❤️

Meet Thabang Mazibuko ❤️

Thabang works in mental health support, helping community members understand, manage and seek support for mental health challenges.

Through community projects, mental health support helps reduce stigma, provide early intervention, strengthen emotional wellbeing and connect people with the right professional services when needed. 🧠❤️

Meet Llewellyn ❤️

Llewellyn is a Child and Youth Care Worker at Ikusasa Lethu Youth Project. Today, he is at the Wembley Homeless Shelter facilitating discussions around substance use disorder, supporting beneficiaries affected by substance use and encouraging them on the journey towards recovery and a better life. ❤️

Meet Keamogetse Masemola ❤️

As a Social Worker at Wembley Homeless Shelter, Keamogetse supports people experiencing homelessness through counselling, rehabilitation referrals, job readiness, obtaining IDs and access to essential services.

Her mission is simple: restore dignity, empower lives and help people rebuild their future. ❤️

Elizabeth Mabasa is an EPWP and OVC Coordinator dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families.

She helps children with schoolwork, assists community members with obtaining IDs and connects those in need with essential support and opportunities. 🌱❤️

Growing Food. Growing Hope. 🌱❤️

Ikusasa Lethu Youth Project runs an agriculture programme that empowers elderly people to grow vegetables, which can be sold to help sustain and grow the programme.

For the elderly, it’s more than farming it gives them purpose, activity, and something positive to look forward to.

As Gogo Leti shares, the programme is refreshing and brings a sense of joy and wellbeing. 🌱
