WILD ENCOUNTERS ALONG THE WAY. 🌿

Looking back at 2026, some of the most memorable moments happened beyond the trails.

A giraffe appearing through the trees. Sable standing quietly in the bush. A flash of brilliant colour from a passing bird. Wildlife around almost every turn, with each encounter adding something special to the journey.

Set against the landscapes of Summerplace Game Reserve, these moments were a reminder of just how much there is to take in when you’re out there, and how often the unexpected becomes part of the story.

The riding may have brought us together, but the surroundings made the experience all the more unforgettable.

THAT’S A WRAP ON 2026. ❤️🚵

Three days of riding, rain, laughs, inspiration, Bok gees and plenty of memories, and according to founder Rory Steyn, this might just have been the best one yet.

Our three Icons brought something truly special this year, sharing their stories, engaging with our riders and reminding us of the bigger purpose behind the weekend. And even when the weather didn’t play along, the spirit of African Icons certainly did. 🙌🏾

But Absa African Icons has always been about more than bikes. It’s about people. It’s about bringing partners, friends, riders, wives, husbands and kids together as one big community, because at the heart of the cause are the families we ride to support.

To our Icons, riders, families and the incredibly loyal sponsors who continue to believe in this vision: thank you for making 2026 one for the books.

DAY 3 — RIDING FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LOST. Different riders. Different abilities. One shared purpose.
The final ride of the is in full swing, but every kilometre carries a purpose beyond the trail.
There are plenty of laughs, moments to regroup and encouragement along the way — a reminder that African Icons isn’t simply about how fast you ride or where you finish. It’s about who you ride for, who you ride alongside, and the difference that can be made when people come together for something bigger than themselves in support of the charitable causes at the heart of the Absa African Icons journey.
Three days. Countless kilometres. One incredible community. One meaningful cause. 💚

BEFORE THE WHEELS STARTED TURNING… ☕🚵

A little look back at how Day 3 started for the crew at Summerplace.

Breakfast was served, coffee was doing some very important work, and the smiles were still going strong after two big days on the trails. A few tired legs around the table? Absolutely. But with one final ride ahead, the energy was exactly where it needed to be. 😎🙌🏾

Fuelled up, good vibes locked in, and ready to make Day 3 count.

DAY 3 — ONE LAST RIDE!
One last morning out on the trails! Day 3 of the Absa African Icons is underway, and after two incredible days of riding, the crew rolled out this morning for the final ride of the weekend.
A few tired legs? Probably. 😅 But judging by the smiles and the energy at the start, there’s still plenty left in the tank.

DAY 2 — FULL SEND 🌧️🚵‍♂️!

A little rain wasn’t going to slow the crew down. Day 2 at Summerplace Game Reserve served up wet trails, slippery rocks, technical sections and plenty of mud – and our riders got stuck straight in.

From navigating the tricky stuff to sending it when the trail opened up, there were challenges, laughs and plenty of dirt-fuelled smiles along the way. Tougher conditions, same great energy – and another reminder that sometimes the messiest rides make the best memories. 🌿🌧️🚵
