Pan African Adolescent Girls Movement that ignites the agency of adolescent girls.

Following the facilitators’ training in July, our Soweto Nest, in partnership with for
Girls, successfully administered the leadership curriculum to 144 girls from Moletsane High School and Naledi High School in Soweto, this past Saturday.

The girls engaged with Modules 4 - 6 of the leadership curriculum through interactive sessions designed to strengthen their knowledge, confidence and practical leadership skills. The sessions were successfully delivered across both schools, marking an important step in translating the facilitators’ training into meaningful engagement with girls in the community.

We are excited to celebrate a significant milestone from Ethiopia, in partnership with Model Africa Union -Ethiopia.

Our dedicated Nurturing Eagles have successfully trained the first cohort of 44 Eagle Sistersthrough Modules 4 - 6 of the curriculum.

This cohort brings together both university and high school students, reflecting our commitment to equipping young women at different stages of their educational journey with the knowledge, skills, and leadership capacity to thrive.

Congratulations to Ethiopia’s first class of 2026 in the leadership Curriculum! We celebrate this achievement and look forward to seeing the positive impact these young women will make in their schools, universities and communities.

This morning, we had the privilege of participating in a roundtable stakeholder engagement session hosted by our Kenya nest host partners FAWE Kenya.

The purpose of the session was to strengthen our ecosystem collaboration efforts with like minded partners focused on adolescent girls wellbeing initiatives in sectors including policy, health, education, climate action, business, food security, innovation, media among others.

In attendance was Ms. Beatrice Soi, Quality Assurance Officer at the Ministry of Education, representatives from Mtoto News, East Africa Child Rights Network among others.

We are excited about the partnerships we're building and the opportunities ahead to ensure every girl has the support, opportunities and platform to thrive.

Meet the Zimbabwe National Steering Committee.
These remarkable Eagle Sisters are championing the voices of adolescent girls across Zimbabwe, ensuring their experiences, ideas and challenges are represented where decisions are made.

Through comprehensive training in leadership, team management, outreach planning, conflict resolution and problem-solving, they have gained the skills and confidence to lead with purpose and drive meaningful change.

Here's to a new generation of leaders driving positive change across Zimbabwe.

Our Kenya Nurturing Eagles are already putting their training into action. Just weeks after completing their facilitator training, they have successfully delivered Curriculum Modules 4 - 6 to 222 Eagles across Theta and Sergoit Nests. Through these sessions, their fellow Eagles strengthened their resilience, enhanced their health and well-being, developed leadership and advocacy skills and gained the confidence to navigate challenges, make informed decisions, and champion gender equality in their schools and communities.

Herein lies the power of investing in young leaders to create lasting impact.

Today, our Movement joined the United Nations in South Africa, together with the Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund and Nelson Mandela Foundation to officially launch “Thando and Freddy’s Big SDG Adventure: A Journey with Tata Madiba.”

The children’s book introduces young readers to the Sustainable Development Goals through an African story that celebrates kindness, equality, inclusion and the power of young people to create change.

As we celebrate Mandela Day, we are reminding children that they are not just the leaders of tomorrow but changemakers today.

We are also excited that our Eagles contributed to this milestone as part of the books development process and launch. Their voices, insights and lived experiences helped shape a resource that speaks to young people in meaningful and relatable ways.

Last month, in partnership with Forum For African Women Educationalists - Kenya Chapter, we successfully trained 10 Nurturing Eagles in Modules 4 - 6 of the Pan-African Adolescent Girls' Movement curriculum in Nakuru, Kenya. We also equipped five Steering Committee members with leadership and governance skills.

The training strengthened the capacity of facilitators and youth leaders to effectively deliver the Movement’s curriculum using participatory, girl-centred approaches. On the final day, Steering Committee members received practical training in team leadership, governance, and planning impactful outreach initiatives to strengthen the Movement's work in their communities.

We’re excited to see these facilitators put their learning into action!

Last week, we had the privilege of participating in the Strategic Engagement on the Development of the 2026 - 2029 Children's Rights Strategy, convened by the South African Human Rights Commission and the Section 11 Committee on Children's Rights.

Our Senior Programme Officer, Ms. Dalreé de Lange, joined Commissioner Nomahlubi Khwinana and fellow children's rights advocates, civil society organisations, government representatives, researchers and other development partners to help shape a shared vision for a more responsive, inclusive and child-centred Children's Rights Strategy.

The engagement provided a platform to contribute to discussions on key priorities affecting children, including child participation, mental health and psychosocial wellbeing, digital safety, child protection and equitable access to education, healthcare, social protection and climate justice.

Highlights from the 5th Nalafem Summit in Nairobi, Kenya.

Under the theme "Power Meets Capital: When Women Back Women,"

Eunice Njeri and Jenipher Williams proudly represented the Pan African Adolescent Girls Movement at the Nalafem Academy Baraza.

They confidently debated the motion, “Women Can, and Do, Back Other Women,” demonstrating the importance of creating spaces where adolescent girls are heard, trusted, and equipped to shape critical conversations.

Their participation is a powerful reminder that adolescent girls are not just the leaders of tomorrow they are leading today.

These facilitators are ready to mentor and equip young Eagles with the skills, confidence, and resilience to become leaders and changemakers in their communities.
