🎨✨ Creativity meets human history!

Our GENUS Accelerator Programme students visited the  for an inspiring day of exploration and hands-on learning.

From discovering the story of human origins to getting creative in the ochre workshop, students created beautiful artworks inspired by one of the oldest forms of human artistic expression ❤️🖌️

A fun and meaningful experience connecting science, history, culture, and creativity!

Learning science by doing 🦴✨

Our Accelerator Programme students got hands-on with the art of fossil casting, guided by Bongani Nkosi from the Evolutionary Studies Institute 👏🏽

Adding depth to the session, Prof J. Choiniere shared valuable insights into why casting is so important, from preserving rare specimens to making research and education more accessible.

From technique to creativity, students didn’t just learn how to cast, they took it a step further by creating glow-in-the-dark casts 🌟

Blending skill, science, and a bit of fun. This is what palaeoscience training looks like! 🔥

From Tsakane to the world of palaeoscience 🦴🌍✨

Learners from a warm and vibrant community in Tsakane, Brakpan, ranging from Grade 8 to undergraduate, were introduced to the exciting world of palaeosciences! The session explored its multidisciplinary nature, funding opportunities, and how palaeoenvironmental reconstructions can help us tackle climate change 🌱

This impactful initiative was led by Julliet Maphutha, a PhD student at Wits University, who is passionate about making science accessible and inspiring the next generation 👏🏽

The future of science is already taking shape 💥
