SWIFT would like to apologise for the slow pace of response to the social media statements made by Ms. Nirvana Nokwe-Mseleku and Mr. Bonko Khoza. Our team of volunteers have been hard at work compiling the timeline of the events that took place in 2023. We took our time to verify some facts and now we have a much better understanding of what took place.

Ours doors and support remain open to Ms. Nonkwe-Mseluku and we continue to call on all industry participants to actively prioritise human dignity.

The FAME Shorts Film Festival 2026 is now open for submissions, inviting filmmakers from across Africa and around the world to share their short films and bring bold, original storytelling to the screen.
Taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 30 October to 1 November 2026, as part of FAME Week Africa, the festival offers a powerful platform for emerging and established filmmakers to connect with industry professionals and reach new audiences.
From compelling narratives to experimental voices, the FAME Shorts Film Festival celebrates creativity, innovation, and the richness of African storytelling across all genres.
This is more than a festival. It is an opportunity to gain visibility, recognition, and connect with the global creative community.
