Dear community and friends,
I am truly honoured to be part of Touch of Hope, a remarkable non-profit organization founded by Elmarie Pretorius in 2010. Elmarie, who runs her own recruitment company, dedicates her resources to support this vital mission. Our connection began during a work interview, where her passion for helping others inspired me to join her cause.
Together, we tirelessly strive to uplift children who have faced abandonment or abuse, including neglect and trafficking. Our work is strengthened by partnerships with retired detectives and volunteer lawyers, as we navigate this critical landscape without government funding, relying on our salaries, business profits, and the kindness of our community.
Our mission centres on two primary expenses: the safe house we operate in Pretoria—kept confidential for safety—and the legal costs essential for pursuing justice. Our goal is clear: to seek justice for the victims. We often work around the clock, collaborating with detectives and community members to gather vital evidence.
In instances of child trafficking, we understand that the first six hours are crucial. Our commitment drives us to act swiftly, even in the early morning hours, as we strive to reunite children with their families.
For those who wish to contribute, I have established a dedicated funding account, ensuring transparency in how we utilize the support we receive.
While we cannot share images of the children and mothers involved in our cases for their safety, we do share their stories under different names once cases are closed. We proudly showcase the generous donations we receive, allowing our community to witness our efforts to restore dignity and trust to those we serve.
Every morning, I express gratitude for another day and the strength to support our children and victims, even amidst overwhelming challenges.
