β€œDirect your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.”
Proverbs 22

parents, mentors , teachers are doing their best to train the mind of a child. There is always one or two voices of wisdom& instruction that gets embedded in shaping who and how you show up as an adult.
Who is that person for you πŸ€”?

My grandfather takes the number spot for me.
He was not intimidated by the foolishness of youth. He handled it with care and understanding. Being around him brought a settling in my confusions. A sense of "belonging" affirming my identity.
I could right a book about our journey.

Love this πŸ’• The only capacity and control we have is to change ourselves.

People are often experts on what their partner should do differently; without turning the lens on themselves.

When you change your position, your response, or your participation in a familiar pattern, the dynamic itself can begin to shift.

This is one of the many reasons why I'm inviting you to explore your relational questions in On Relationships, my new digital learning platform designed to help you develop your relational intelligence and practice new ways of relating.

We're launching with three collections: desire and intimacy, conflict and communication, and all-new trust and betrayals content.

Now is your chance to access the VIP pre-launch offer:
20% off your first year's subscription
An exclusive webinar with me on Trust and Betrayals in late October
A free month of my Substack Entre Nous

The past week has been hard for all of us. Triggering to say the least for many families. We are inter connected by Gods design such that none of us is spared from human suffering. We need divine intervention now more than ever.
We trust in his mercy, they are new every morning even during these seemingly dark times.
We speak healing and comfort to those who are broken hearted πŸ’” and sending sincerest condolences πŸ’

Building Family Relations is concerned about the impact of absent mothers on the wellbeing of children. The social platform utilizes the term 'deadbeat moms'. This term is predominantly associated with affluent mothers from the Eastern Cape, as per comments from social media pages that frequently share these distressing stories. These stories are truly heartbreaking, and reading juts one single account can be enough to spoil one's week. Traditionally, grandparents would bridge this gap, but as they pass on, what remains is shameful. This includes instances of aunts and uncles rejecting these children and subjecting them to various forms of abuse, as well as mothers struggling or refusing to integrate these children into their new families.

From the child's perspective: Can we discuss what needs to happen, bomama? Kubi, Nomase Loqo. Courage COACH - Passionate About Empowering You. Lerato Makhatha. Building Family Relations Nomase Loqo Courage COACH - "Passionate About Empowering You" Lerato Makhatha

We resonate with this view πŸ‘‡πŸ½ Family is the first institution of governance. Where we learn important values, like belonging, consideration, contribution, accountability, etc. It's encouraging to hear this from influential community leaders - twice this week. Let the word go out there and lead us to reviewing the quality of current family relations for future generations through the eyes of a child πŸ’ž
