We experienced another very interesting and enjoyable morning at Travel Club this month.

This month it was Peter Watt talking about a cruise he went on commencing in Iceland and going to Faroe and the Shetland Islands. The scenery was certainly beautiful although he did not always experience the best weather but I guess one has to take that chance. We all thoroughly enjoyed his talk. Thank you Peter for a lovely morning.

Next month Philip Wood will be talking about the tours he takes people on around South Africa. We look forward to hearing what he has to tell us

Take care and keep well.

Kind regards

Gill and Dale.

Once again Travel Club was well attended and we certainly enjoyed the talk that Coralie Rutherford gave us about Ethiopia. It was most interesting and very informative. She also brought some artifacts to show us which she had purchased in Ethiopia.

Coralie is extremely well traveled and was also able to give us snippets from other countries that she has been to.
She had discovered an Australian company called Peregrine (now bought by Intrepid) that did small group tours. They didn’t charge single supplement and did more in depth tours. Each year she went to somewhere a little different e.g. trekking in Nepal, India twice (North & South), Japan, China, Vietnam Peru, Bolivia, down the centre of S America, Mexico, Cuba, Turkey, Greece, Poland Russia and Baltic states, driving across Belarus which borders Ukriane
BUT - the 2 best were Ethiopia and Tibet
We had a really lovely morning and many of us stayed on for lunch at the German Club.
Next month Peter Watt will be giving us a talk on a cruise commencing in Iceland and going to Faroe and Shetland Islands.

We visited the RMB Latitudes Art Fair at Shepstone Gardens, and it was an absolute delight! The experience of immersing ourselves in the stunning array of South African art was truly remarkable. The venue itself is breathtaking, adding to the charm of the event. Overall, it was a fantastic winter day in Johannesburg, filled with creativity and inspiration.

What an exhilarating meeting we had with the incredible Brett de Groot! He captivated us with his fascinating presentation, "A Walk with Disney," transporting us into the magical world of Disney like never before.

Then, we also had some exciting winners ! Eunice, a new member, took home the 50/50 prize. 🎉

Elke Blasberg snagged the Birthday prize, adding an extra sparkle to her special day! And let’s not forget the delightful Mothers Day bouquet of flowers won by Ronda Rossouw 🌷

What a fantastic gathering filled with inspiration and celebration!
