Thando crowned Miss Charis 2024

Gracefully Thando, has devoted herself to empowering others, with her triumph serving as a beacon of hope, inspiring young girls in Orange Farm to chase their dreams with unwavering faith and determination.

Thando, co-founder and art therapist at Buhlebembali Social Counselling Foundation, was crowned on 7 December, at the Discovery Recreation Centre in Roodepoort.

Miss Charis is not just a pageant; it is a platform designed to inspire young women to embrace their grace, faith and purpose, aligning their lives with God's divine plan. The pageant’s vision is drawn from the biblical story of Esther, who found favour in God's eyes.

Thando told OFN: “I am deeply grateful and humble to be ordained as the first Midwife of the Miss Charis Pageant Organization. This accomplishment reflects God's goodness and favour in my life. I vow to serve this platform with integrity, grace, and humility, always pointing others to Him. Thank you to my family, spiritual family, and supporters for their unwavering love and guidance. I am excited to serve my Deaf community and carry out this important mission. May unity, grace, faith, and purpose guide us all.”

Gracefully Thando poised and excited for Miss Charis pageant finale

Gracefully Thando, co-founder and art therapist at Buhlebembali Social Counselling Foundation, is among the finalists for South Africa’s first Christ-Centred national pageant, Miss Charis Pageant (MCP).

Miss Charis is more than a pageant – it’s a platform dedicated to empowering young women to embrace their grace, faith and purpose, all while aligning with God’s divine plan. The vision draws inspiration from the story of Esther, who found favour in God’s sight.

Founded in 2024, Miss Charis will host its first annual finale on 7 December at the Discovery Recreation Centre, Roodepoort.

Thando describes the journey to the finale as both demanding and exciting.

“Pageants are often stressful and tedious, but having Mam’ Sukoluhle Malivha, the founder of MCP, guiding us makes the process much smoother,” she shares.

In addition to weekly challenges with exciting prizes, the grand finale promises rewards that make the journey worthwhile.

Winners will walk away with:

Miss Charis 2024 – R10 000, a sash and a crown

1st Runner-Up – R6 000, a sash and a crown2nd Runner-Up: R4 000, a sash and a crown

Excitement builds as the finalists prepare to step into the spotlight and embrace their divine purpose.
