A few months ago, we were privileged to assist Owethu with fairly urgent surgery.

At the time, our focus was simply on making sure he received the medical care he so urgently needed. Sometimes, in the process of getting a child the treatment they need, we don’t stop to think about how they experience that journey — and the lasting impression it may leave on them.

Today was Career Day at Owethu’s school.

And guess what he arrived dressed as?

A doctor, complete with his very own scrubs!

Owethu was so inspired by the care, kindness and love he received during his medical journey that he now dreams of becoming a doctor himself, so that one day he can help others.

And that, for us, is incredibly special.

We set out to change a little life through access to medical care. We never imagined that along the way, we might also inspire a dream for the future.

Perhaps one day, Dr Owethu will be changing lives of his own. 💚

With heavy hearts, we share the heartbreaking news that Baby K has sadly passed away.

Together with Boikanyo, The Dion Herson Foundation, The Netcare Foundation, and Wings and Wishes NPO, we stood united in hope to try and secure the life-changing treatment he so desperately needed. Baby K was deeply loved, and so many people came together, holding him close and fighting for his comfort, his healing, and his future.

Although his journey ended far too soon, we take comfort in knowing he was surrounded by compassion, care, and unwavering support every step of the way.

Rest peacefully, precious Baby K.
May you now be free from pain, held in perfect peace.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and everyone who loved him during this incredibly difficult time. 🤍
