Introducing Youth Health Africa
Youth Health Africa addresses two major issues (youth unemployment and the spread of HIV) through a healthcare-focused youth empowerment program.
Youth Health Africa aims to decrease the spread of HIV and reduce the high levels of youth unemployment through a large-scale holistic program which aims to equip youth from heavily-burdened communities over with knowledge and education about HIV and AIDS; skills development and work experience as a data capturers, general researchers, lay counsellors and other roles which provides underprivileged youth with economic opportunity and increases their employability and future economic prospects; and an overall contribution to the improvement of South Africa’s healthcare through the collective contribution of these youth in the 27 priority districts. The program is a 1 year – skills development and work experience with a monthly stipend.
This is a crucial and significant program as it not only addresses critical South African issues, but also align with the United Nations Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs).
