SCOB is a Community Based Organization founded on 4th August 2007, through the initiatives of the Somali elders, youths, women and intellectuals who gathered the community members for the formation of one umbrella body that represents the entire Somali community in South Africa. The Somali community come together and participated in its first election for chairmanship which was held on the 2nd of

December 2007, at Brixton Johannesburg.SCOB has a branches all over the republic, Its leadership were chosen in a democratic election voted by more than five hundred Somali representative, representing different provinces in the republic of South Africa
