SOUP DROP 2026 – A LADLE OF LOVE

Did you know?
Millions of South Africans continue to face hunger every day. Through Salaam Foundation’s hunger alleviation programmes, we support vulnerable communities by providing nutritious meals and food assistance to children and families in need.

Our current initiatives include:
• Supporting 450 children and 250 women at five care centres across Gauteng
• Providing daily meals for children and monthly food packs for women
• Supplying nutritional support to 340 children attending ECD centres in rural Northern Cape
• Distributing over 10,000 meat, egg and vegetable meals every 4-6 weeks through our feeding programmes

This winter, join Salaam Foundation’s Soup Drop Campaign and help us raise funds to continue feeding those in need.

How you can help:
✅ Secure a venue
✅ Prepare or sponsor haleem or soup
✅ Sell it in your community
✅ Donate the proceeds to support our feeding programmes

Secure a venue (can be outside your home, a shop, masjid, community space, school, market, etc) make sure to make arrangements with the owner of the venue.

Sell it in your community with anything else you think may sell on the day.

Join Salaam Foundation’s Soup Drop this winter and assist us in providing continued support to those facing hunger across South Africa.

How it works:
✅ Secure a venue in your community
✅ Prepare or have haleem or soup sponsored
✅ Sell the haleem or soup on the day
✅ Donate the proceeds to Salaam Foundation’s hunger alleviation projects

Whether it’s outside your house, at your business, school, community centre, market, or masjid, every bowl sold helps feed those in need.

Together, we can turn a simple bowl of soup into hope.

After two successful empowerment programmes with , Salaam Foundation is once again offering 20 young unemployed students from a disadvantaged background an opportunity to gain practical skills and a real content creation experience.

Step into the digital space with confidence.
This is round three of the digital creator programme.

Details:
Free training
• Start date: 22 June 2026
• Location: Melville, Johannesburg
• A stipend for transport will be provided AFTER candidates are selected and attend their first lesson.

Attendance in person is compulsory for every lesson.

Madressah’s run in the most rural villages of Madagascar and children are learning under strained conditions.

With your support, uniforms were sewn for the boys living in an orphange and madressah complex in one such village.

Earlier in the year, the Salaam Foundation team visited some of the poorest villages in Madagascar after a cyclone hit the country.
40 tonnes of rice was delivered during that visit.

In collaboration with Build and , Salaam Foundation has trained 10 young individuals in a business incubator programme.

These students were exposed to marketing, finance basics, received one-on-one mentorship and digital skills to take the leap into the world of business.

This is sustainable development and empowerment in action!
