I want to live in a world where I am seen as a leader, as an activist and a professional and not seen as a woman leader, as a woman scholar and woman professional -

As we exit the month of May I would love for us to take on these words by former Fix Scholar (2021 recipient) and 2022 GIBS Brand Ambassador, Sihle Gcilitshana to remind us that we should live in a world where we are seen as leaders, scholars, entrepreneurs, etc. We are women, proudly so, but that should not define who we are and what roles we take on in society.

In her article titled Women’s Rights Done Right, Gcilitshana speaks more on women’s rights and the recognition of women in society.

Africa day - Africa’s year of nutrition

This day is one meant to celebrate the growth and achievements of Africa and its people. It is also a day to reflect on the ongoing difficulties African people face. Food insecurity and malnutrition continue to be a challenge faced by Africans despite the progress seen on the continent.

On this day let us remind ourselves of how far we have come as African while remaining mindful of the long journey and the responsibilities we have towards fighting challenges we continue to face such as food insecurities and malnutrition.

Earlier this month, the Fix Scholarship received exciting news !!!!!

It was an invitation from our friends at ‘International Labour Organisation’ to the Joint ILO-FES Africa Regional Conference on Decent Work and
the Social and Solidarity Economy in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.

This took place this past week and we were represented by our head board of director, Pumeza Lujabe.

We were welcomed to present our work over the last 10 years & and we are excited about the networks formed over the last few days in Côte d'Ivoire.

Big thank you to ‘The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation (FES)’ for hosting us.
