WHO WE ARE
Project Dark&COLD in conjunction with New Acropolis an international organisation operating in South Africa since 2006 are launching an initiative in the Johannesburg area called ‘Chow4Change’
The objectives of the initiative are to provide dignity to the homeless, who are generally neglected and sidelined in our society, while at the same time raising awareness of their plight, and f
ostering a spirit of volunteerism in the community. The idea conceptually is not simply to feed the homeless but to provide them with a dignified dining experience, where they can enjoy a good meal in a restaurant setting. Our first event is planned for the 1st October 2016. We plan to approach food outlets in the area for sponsorship of the meals and have a volunteer program for people to come on the day and ‘staff’ the restaurant. It is important to note that while this is the first event, we plan for it to be repeatable, and to take it forward and hold them on a regular basis. PARTNERS & COLLABORATORS

EVENT PLAN
08:00 – 10:00 Setup DPU to provide mobile showers & clinic services. *
Collection of food from donors & food preparation. Tables, chairs and space decoration. Clothing distribution station.
09:00 – 12:00 Distribution Distribution of entry vouchers too homeless.
10:00 Services Open Mobile showers & clinic open to receive patrons. *
Clothing ‘street store’ open.
11:00 Musicians Musicians arrive to set up their set.
12:00 Diner Open Restaurant opened for patrons.
14:00 – 16:00 Folding Begin to pack up, clean and fold. (Items marked with a * are not yet finalised)
