The morning programme of Day 2 at the SAIMM Uranium Conference 2026 featured a series of insightful technical presentations covering key aspects of uranium exploration, processing, project development and optimisation.

Delegates explored topics including the development of the Jordan uranium project, XRT ore sorting, yellowcake production, modular process systems, structural geology and rock mass characteristics, uranium recovery through nitric acid leaching, process flowsheet optimisation, secondary uranium mineralisation and uranium heap leach circuit design.

The morning sessions provided valuable technical insights and opportunities for knowledge sharing across the uranium industry, setting the stage for another engaging afternoon programme.

As part of the build-up to tomorrow’s Uranium Conference 2026, participants are taking part in the Modelling with Cycad Process® Workshop, focused on developing mass and energy balances using Cycad Process®.

The workshop covers steady-state balances across comminution circuits, reactor trains, solvent extraction, ion-exchange and solid-liquid separation. Participants are also working through the modelling of a typical uranium processing plant, from milling through to yellow cake.

Facilitated by Nicholas du Preez, Director at CM Solutions Pty Ltd, the workshop provides a practical technical session ahead of the conference.
