Proud to be part of the Sandringham High Schools transformation through EduSafe, a CAP-initiated project to help restore safer, cleaner and more functional school environments. This is what partnership in action looks like!

Something really special is happening at Sandringham High School, and it’s all because a community decided not to look away 🙏🏽

A group of past learners came together and started rebuilding their old school after it had slowly fallen into disrepair over the years.

We’re talking about the basics… broken toilets, no running water, an abandoned swimming pool, damaged classrooms. The kind of things that make learning really difficult for over 1,200 learners.

But instead of waiting for someone else to fix it, they stepped in. And little by little, things started changing.

The pool has been brought back. Toilets restored. Water systems installed. Classrooms repaired. And more importantly… pride has started coming back into the school.

And that’s really the heart of it.

This wasn’t just about fixing buildings. It was about showing learners that they matter. That their environment matters. That their future matters.

CAP NEWSFLASH: 3 Headlight Theft Suspects Arrested
19 May 2026

On 19 May 2026, CAP teams were alerted to a vehicle linked to headlight theft in the Greenside area.

The CAP Special Intervention Unit, supported by CAP Tactical and Special Operations, worked in coordination with JMPD to track and locate the suspects as the vehicle moved through the northern suburbs. The suspects were intercepted in Norwood, resulting in the arrest of all three individuals.

Operations of this nature are critical in disrupting organised theft networks, removing repeat offenders from circulation, and preventing further attacks on vehicles and property across our suburbs.

CAP Edusafe transforms more than Sandringham High School’s facilities…

Over the past year, CAP Edusafe, together with the Jeppe High Scool for Boys and its Alumni, Gauteng Department of Education, community members, government stakeholders, private partners and Sandringham High School alumni, has worked to restore and revitalise Sandringham High School.

What was once neglected has been transformed into spaces where learners can once again feel proud - this forms a core part of our Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design initiative - improving spaces to make them safer.

From upgraded classrooms and restored facilities to improved safety, perimeter security and ongoing precinct support, this initiative represents more than infrastructure.

It represents belief.

Belief that every child deserves to learn in an environment that is safe, cared for and dignified.

The most powerful moment was not only the physical transformation, but the pride and hope reflected in the students themselves.

This is the power of collaboration.
This is the power of community, this is why CAP is proud to be a core part of this program, and grateful to all of our partners.
