WORD FOR THE DAY DEVOTION — TUESDAY

WHO DO MEN SAY I AM?

Bible Reading: Matthew 16:13–17

Jesus asked His disciples a powerful question: “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?”

People had different opinions about Jesus. Some said John the Baptist, others Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. But Jesus then asked the disciples a more personal question: “But whom say ye that I am?”

Peter answered by divine revelation: “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

This teaches us that knowing what people say about Jesus is not enough. We must personally know who Jesus is.

Jesus is not only a prophet. He is not merely a teacher or a good man. He is the Christ, the Son of the living God, our Saviour, our Lord, and our Redeemer.

Today, ask yourself: Who is Jesus to me?
Is He only someone you call when you need help, or is He truly the Lord of your life?

When we truly know who Jesus is, our faith becomes stronger, our worship becomes deeper, and our lives begin to reflect Him.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, open my eyes to know You more deeply. Remove every wrong understanding of who You are. Help me to recognize You as the Christ, the Son of the living God, and make You the Lord over every area of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Declaration:
I know who Jesus is. He is my Lord, my Saviour, and the Christ, the Son of the living God. My life belongs to Him. Amen.

Scriptures states that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
As believers we hold spiritual authority to confront fear, temptation, and darkness.
Invoking the name of Jesus Christ shifts human focus from distress to divine presence.

Finding Hope in God — Part 5

Scripture: “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God.” — Psalm 42:5 (KJV)

🌅 KEEP YOUR HOPE IN GOD

There are seasons in life when everything may seem uncertain. You may pray and not immediately see an answer. You may face disappointment, delay, rejection, or situations that make you wonder, “Will things ever change?”

But God is reminding you today: Do not lose your hope in Him.

Our circumstances can change, people can disappoint us, and our plans can fail, but God remains faithful. Your hope should not be built on what you see today; it should be built on who God is.

The Psalmist spoke to his own soul and said, “Hope thou in God.” Sometimes, you have to encourage yourself in the Lord. You have to remind yourself that God has not forgotten you and that your story is not finished.

Your present situation is not the end of your story. God is still working.

Even when you cannot see the way forward, trust the One who already knows the way. Even when you do not understand what God is doing, continue to believe that He is working for your good.

🙏 PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help me to keep my hope in You. When I am discouraged, strengthen my heart. When I cannot see the way forward, remind me that You are still with me. Let my faith remain strong even in difficult seasons. Turn every disappointment into a testimony and every delay into a divine opportunity. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

🔥 DECLARATION

I will not lose hope! My hope is in God. My future is in His hands. God has not forgotten me. My testimony is coming, my season is changing, and I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
