DRP is guided by the principle of respect for human dignity, non-discrimination and participation. The project safeguards human rights, promotes non-discriminatory access to social services, provide temporary accommodation and create long term sustainable programmes (Vocational skills trainings) to ensure the well-being and socio-economic integration of marginalized refugees, migrants and asylum seekers into the mainstream society. DRP works with disabled people to contribute ensuring a successful implementation of the policies of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

Sustaining lives programs for our beneficiaries is the most powerful tool to ensure their successful integration. With five years on the field, we have worked with the City of Johannesburg on skills development program (2010). We have worked in partnership with the Foundation for Human rights to raise awareness on disability issues in the refugee community (2011). We have received assistance of ORT South Africa in building capacity of the DRP Management team (2012). And lately and most importantly, we have partnered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR) and the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) on a three months Mental Health Pilot Program to raise awareness on the mental health issues and provide adequate care to victims of Traumatic life experiences and unfair Human Rights violation in the refugee community.
