Do you love telling stories through photos, video and design? Can you shoot it, edit it, design it and post it yourself? HIVSA is looking for a creative, hands-on Digital Media Coordinator to join our team!

📍 Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
📅 Contract: 9-month fixed term (1 November 2026 – 31 July 2027)

In this role you'll:
✅ Tell the stories of HIVSA's programmes through video, photos, blogs and case studies
✅ Shoot, edit, design and publish content across all our platforms
✅ Promote HIVSA and our programmes online and at events
✅ Supervise and guide our digital media interns

We're looking for someone with:
🎓 A diploma or degree in Marketing, Multimedia Design, Digital Media or Graphic Design
💼 At least 2 years' experience in digital marketing or content creation
🎥 Camera skills, plus CapCut (or similar) and Canva
📁 A portfolio of content you've personally shot, edited and designed
🚗 A valid driver's licence (held for 3+ years)

What does meaningful work create beyond the work itself?

For many SEF participants, it created a next step.

Between April and June, 40 participants moved into employment opportunities — including three who were absorbed into permanent roles by their host CBOs. Six participants used savings from their SEF stipends to start micro-enterprises, while 10 progressed into further education, learnerships and formal training.

The ripple effect reached further still.

Twenty-seven participants completed Harambee’s Career Readiness Train-the-Trainer programme, equipping them to share employability and career-development knowledge with fellow participants across their communities. A further 742 participants were connected to the Youth Force (YoMobi) platform, giving them continued access to learning, work opportunities, career guidance and income-generating information.

This is what a pathway can look like: a young person gains practical experience, builds confidence, accesses new opportunities — and then helps others find their way forward too.

SEF Round 4 has come to a close — and we are deeply proud of what communities, CBOs and young people achieved together.

Over 10 months, HIVSA worked alongside 30 community-based organisations across Johannesburg and Sedibeng. The programme concluded with 984 participants actively engaged, supported through meaningful workplace experience, skills development, mentorship and connections to future employment, training and entrepreneurship opportunities.

But the impact was never only about employment. It was also about strengthening the everyday support available to families and communities.

Through the work of participants and CBO partners, Round 4 delivered:

• Food and nutrition support to 58,267 people
• Education support to 30,626 beneficiaries
• Health and care support to 77,849 beneficiaries
• 291 community safety and GBV awareness campaigns
• Digital-skills training for 711 participants
• EMS First Responder training for 549 participants

These numbers represent real community care: meals prepared and shared, learners supported, households reached, health information provided, and safer conversations created.

In July, more than 230 participants also marked Mandela Month through clean-ups, gardening, food and clothing donations, health activities and dignity-pack distribution — a fitting reflection of the care and commitment participants brought to their communities throughout the programme.

Thank you to every participant, host CBO, partner and community member who shaped this work. We carry the relationships, learning and momentum from Round 4 into what comes next.

Meet the Team Monday 👋🏾

Meet Munewazwo Dzivhani, our Capacity Development Officer at HIVSA.

A qualified and registered social worker, Munewazwo brings extensive experience in child protection, psychosocial support, HIV/TB adherence counselling, HIV disclosure support for children, GBV response, and community-based programming.

Before joining HIVSA, he worked within both the Department of Social Development and the Department of Education, supporting orphaned and vulnerable children and their families through a range of child protection and psychosocial cases.

Munewazwo first joined HIVSA in September 2023 as a Team Lead under the PHVP programme, where he supported seven community-based organisations in Sub-district G the Orange Farm, Grasmere, Lehae, Lenasia and surrounding areas of the City of Johannesburg. Today, as a Capacity Development Officer, he works closely with three CBOs in Limpopo, helping strengthen their capacity to deliver effective, responsive services in their communities.

With a background in facilitation, programme management, HIV prevention, PrEP/PEP, and capacity building, Munewazwo’s work reflects the heart of HIVSA’s approach — strengthening people and organisations so communities can thrive.

Through NextGen, HIVSA invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for registration on the NextGen Supplier Database as:

• Facilitator/Assessors
• Moderators

The database will support HIVSA’s accredited Occupational Skills Programme: Early Childhood Caregiver — NQF Level 1 (SP-191219, 37 credits).

Successful applicants may be called upon, on an as-needed basis, to support future training, assessment and moderation activities. Training is delivered primarily through HIVSA’s e-learning platform, with minimal to no in-person training required.

Minimum requirements

Facilitator/Assessor
• Recognised ECD qualification or qualification in a closely related field
• Valid Assessor qualification/registration
• Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in ECD, training/facilitation and assessment

Moderator
• Valid Moderator qualification/registration
• Minimum of five years’ relevant experience, including assessment and/or moderation

• Updated CV and certified copy of ID
• Certified copies of relevant qualifications and registrations
• Evidence of at least five years’ relevant experience
