🍎 Happy World Teachers’ Day! 📚

Today, DeafSA celebrates and thanks all teachers across South Africa for the important work you do in educating, supporting and inspiring our children and young people.

A very special thank you goes to the teachers in schools for Deaf learners. Your commitment to Deaf education and to teaching through South African Sign Language (SASL) makes a lasting difference in the lives of Deaf learners.

Every Deaf child deserves to learn in a language they fully understand.

We continue to stand for SASL as a Medium of Instruction, giving Deaf learners equal access to quality education, knowledge and opportunities.

To every teacher who teaches with patience, passion and dedication — we see you, we value you, and we thank you.

Happy World Teachers’ Day! 💙

🎬✨ Celebrating National Month of Deaf People! 💙

As part of Deaf Awareness Month, Hands with Words hosted a special film viewing at St. James Church, featuring the crucifixion and life of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

The film was presented in American Sign Language (ASL) with subtitles, making the story accessible to Deaf audiences. 🙏🏽

It was a wonderful gathering with a great turnout and a meaningful opportunity to experience the Gospel through sign language. ✝️💙
