SDMZN Is Coming In Hot – A New Chapter in Indigenous SA Hip-Hop/Rock And Then Some

The sound lab has been sizzling. The soldiers have been deep in the cut, fine-tuning the frequencies and locking in on something powerful. SDMZN has been grinding overtime to make up for some delays – and trust, the wait is about to be worth every second.

And that’s not all.
Massive new collaborations are on the way. Bigger. Bolder. Unfiltered. SDMZN is not just releasing music – they’re shifting the frequency.

Who is SDMZN?
Born in Soweto, SDMZN is a brotherhood of creative practice, an experimental force fusing live analog instrumentation with digital soundscapes. It’s a high-level sonic dialogue – wrapped in Nguni language, spoken word, and authentic Hip-Hop aesthetics.

This is more than music.
It’s a modern-day preservation of indigenous tongues through the raw spirit of rhythm and rhyme. Two masked Sowetan creatives, seasoned and surgical, are crafting what will be seen as a cultural artefact in the SA rap timeline.

SDMZN is the next level.

✊🏾 The Rebirth of the African Empire Requires Us All!

Africa’s future cannot be built with half its power missing. Black women have always been the backbone of our culture, our resilience, and our survival—but too often, they are left out of the rooms where our future is being shaped.

The Black man fighting for Africa’s restoration needs more than just strength—he needs the love, wisdom, and active participation of the Black woman. Together, they magnify each other’s power, ensuring that our revolution is not just spoken but fully realized.

Africa’s rebirth has been a long and winding road—marked by resistance, resilience, and the slow, often painful process of reclaiming economic, cultural, and political sovereignty. Yet, at the heart of this struggle lies a paradox: the very hands that have nurtured Africa’s soul, preserved its...

“Word Up Y’all!

Can’t wait to drop these letters for all who believe in the original God form! A gospel of modern scripture! This is what A.I would be if it stood for African Intelligence. The literary definition of a well-used African mind.

This is a seminal body of work by myself. It is a poetic thesis, created in a standard that Africa has still to understand and verify. It is beyond professor-level work in the field of creative literary contributions. It is a soul gift to the continent, it’s people and ancestors. A praise of the skill we inherit from.

The cover artwork is the original work of Slovo BlkJew Mamphaga, who also works on the graphic representation of one the greatest South African pianists, uBabu Yenana - who happens to be mildly sampled in the main track of this masterpiece, in a beat made by the late, great Phakiso “Phaks Manis” Mokoena. The overwhelming honour of the effortless grace the universe has spared to materialise this project only assures that God does indeed work through us, and that listening is the greatest service to creation and creating.

This work is the manifestation of the genius ideas and work of Dumile Feni, whom we are truly enjoying the blueprint of - in terms of finding more purpose for creative expression in the real time environment. We are therefore grateful to be able to replicate the mastery of African potential, thanks to our elders.

Truly, indlela ibuzwa kwabaphambili

Camagu 🕯️!”

This here is a timeless stone tablet of philosophical, revolutionary thoughts and ideas. This project is an attempt at delivering transcendental knowledge into concise, universal understanding - yet with, uncompromising hyper detail.

In the spirit/emphasis of the duty carried by beings notable by the likes of Thoth the Alantian, AKA The Thrice Majestic. It is written in multi-layered precision for maximum reach. I believe one can learn from, and understand and love this body of work, even if they were listening from beyond this 3rd dimension of ours. Please listen and enjoy, then share and repeat.

Play it for your children as they will live long enough to get it. It’s ahead of its time, that can be assured. So, if you wanna dance, this tape won’t help. If you want to mentally advance, this is your chance.

A Call to Action: Building a Legacy Together

Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,

I write to you today with a full heart and an unwavering belief in the power of collective effort. As we approach our departure in just two days’ time for the Smoking Dragon Festival, we find ourselves reflecting deeply on the journey that has brought us here.

We are We Are The Money, a movement born in the heart of Soweto, forged through the dreams, struggles, and resilience of African artists. We are not just creatives—we are custodians of stories, advocates for our communities, and architects of a future where African art and culture are not only preserved but celebrated in their fullness.

This movement stands on the shoulders of countless pioneers of African excellence. It is grounded in the belief that our sovereignty as a people begins with the sovereignty of our voices, our stories, and our creativity. We are determined to rebuild an Africa not merely surviving on the remnants of its former glory, but thriving in abundance, unity, and pride.

Our upcoming journey to the Smoking Dragon Festival is not just a milestone for us—it is a bold step in reclaiming space for township and rural artists on stages where they have long been absent. We are managing one of the festival’s seven stages, a monumental opportunity to showcase the brilliance of our artists to the world.

But this mission is bigger than us. It is about empowering the next generation of artists, creating platforms where their gifts can shine, and ensuring that the economic benefits of their talents return to their communities. This is the essence of our philosophy: working group economics, mutual support, and uplifting one another.

Today, we urgently seek your support to make this dream a reality. Despite months of planning and relentless effort, we are still short of the resources needed to transport our artists, set up our stage, and ensure their safety and comfort on this journey.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Spread the Word: Share this message far and wide. Let the world know what we are doing and why it matters.
2. Financial Support: Any contribution—big or small—brings us closer to our goal. You can donate directly or purchase tickets to the festival as a way of supporting our movement.
3. Corporate and Community Support: If you represent a brand, organization, or community group, consider sponsoring our journey or providing in-kind support to help us succeed.

This is more than an event; it is a statement of intent. It is a declaration that African art matters, that township and rural voices deserve to be heard, and that our collective future is worth fighting for.

I humbly ask you to stand with us in these final hours. Together, we can ensure that this journey is not only undertaken but that it leaves an indelible mark, paving the way for countless others to follow.

Let us walk this path as one, knowing that we are not only building a movement—we are building history.

With gratitude and determination,

In the world of creative arts, opportunities for township and marginalized artists have often been stifled by systemic barriers, limited resources, and an industry that historically centers mainstream voices. Today, a new chapter begins, led by the visionary team behind We Are The Money and it’s f...
