Thinking about Life Rights at Eddy House in Benoni? Here’s how it works.

You pay a once-off amount for the right to live in your unit for the rest of your life, in line with your agreement. Methodist Homes owns the property, so there’s no transfer duty for you to pay.

From there, you pay a monthly levy towards the running costs of the village. When you leave and the Life Right is sold to a new occupant, up to 50% of the amount received is repaid to you or your estate, according to your agreement.

Maintenance Team of the Year, two years running.

Congratulations to Philip and Thabo at Springs Retirement Village, who have won the MHA Group Maintenance Team of the Year award for the second year in a row. 🎉

The award, with a cash prize and an extra cash incentive, recognises the work they put into keeping the gardens beautiful and the village grounds in top condition. It shows every day, and residents and staff notice it.

There were proudly South African colours, music and dressing up, plenty of good food, and traditions shared between residents and the teams who work alongside them.

It was a good reminder that the things that make each of us different are worth celebrating, and that every story and every tradition is worth sharing.
