Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is a global network of principled medical and other professionals who specialise in medical humanitarian work, driven by our common humanity and guided by medical ethics. We work together in teams, small and large, to respond to the medical needs of people affected by conflict, disasters and epidemics and people excluded from healthcare. We strive to practically provi

de medical care that matches the realities of patients, adapting care in order to be relevant and specific. At times, this may include partnering with other individuals and organisations and working with local experts. MSF team members are on the ground, working directly for and alongside patients, every day. We bear witness and describe what is happening, to raise awareness about the experiences of the people we assist and the situations where we work. We alert the public to emerging crises, acute emergencies and serious challenges, such as exclusion from healthcare. We communicate to provoke change. Our mission with this page is to engage our Facebook fans, followers, and Facebook audience with information and stories from MSF teams and patients worldwide while bringing you closer to the work we do. We encourage our fans, followers and Facebook audience to interact with the content we share and share your views with us. MSF is a neutral and impartial organization that does not discriminate based on gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, culture or similar factors. To facilitate positive interactions for our fans and followers, we reserve the right to take down photos, comments and other material deemed "unproductive" or discriminatory by the MSF team. This includes, but is not limited to:

· Offensive or violent language,

· Links or comments containing sexually explicit content material
· Violations of copyright or intellectual property rights

· Attacks on specific groups or any comments meant to harass, threaten or abuse an individual

1.6 million consultations. 10 years of care.

Following the closure of Nduta refugee camp, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is concluding its activities in Kibondo District, Tanzania.

Since 2015, our teams have provided more than 1.6 million outpatient consultations and cared for over 100,000 admitted patients, supporting both refugees and host communities with lifesaving healthcare.

“For more than a decade, we have worked alongside refugees and host communities to improve access to quality healthcare in Kibondo District and strengthen health services beyond the camp setting,” said Serviour Dombojena, MSF Project Coordinator in Nduta.

A breakthrough in HIV prevention should reach everyone who needs it.

Lenacapavir has the potential to transform HIV prevention globally, but access remains limited for many communities around the world.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is calling for action to ensure this game-changing medicine is available to everyone who needs it.

“Gilead must do more to ensure people have access to both shots to cover a full year of protection, for no more than $40, everywhere,” said Melissa Barber, MSF USA Global Health Advocacy and Policy Advisor.

Access to life-saving innovation should not be a privilege.

One month into the Ebola disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the situation is still outpacing the response.

Major gaps in testing, surveillance, contact tracing, and community engagement are making it difficult to contain the spread, especially in Ituri province, the current epicentre.

“Setting up activities and explaining the disease is not enough to build community trust; people’s concerns need to be listened to, and communities should help shape the response,” says Frederic Lai Manantsoa, emergency coordinator for Doctors Without Borders MSF in DRC.

Many patients are still being diagnosed late, treatment centres are overwhelmed, and insecurity is limiting access to affected communities.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) was founded in 1971 by a group of doctors and journalists in the wake of the war and famine in Biafra, Nigeria, and the floods in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh).

From the beginning, MSF combined medical action with bearing witness or témoignage. By speaking out about the suffering we see, we help ensure that crises are not ignored or forgotten, while advocating for the dignity and rights of people affected by conflict, disease, and disaster.

Share in the comments how speaking out about injustice or crisis has impacted you or your community.

More than 13,000 people have been forced to flee their homes following a wave of armed attacks in Ancuabe district, Cabo Delgado province, northern Mozambique.

Many arrived in the displacement sites of Nanjua A and Nanjua B with little more than what they could carry. Today, more than 5,000 people are seeking safety there.

Since launching an emergency response on 19 May, our teams have been providing healthcare through mobile clinics and psychosocial support services. In just a few weeks, we carried out more than 1,000 consultations, treating conditions including malaria, respiratory tract infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections. Patients with severe conditions, including epilepsy and severe malaria-related anaemia, were referred for specialised care.

Beyond medical care, our teams have also rehabilitated two water wells, installed handwashing stations, improved waste management facilities, and built latrines to help improve living conditions for displaced families.

Climate change is not just an environmental issue; it’s a health emergency that is costing more and more lives every year.

At Doctors Without Borders (MSF), we are seeing firsthand how climate emergencies pose a growing threat to the health and well-being of people across Southern Africa and the rest of the world. This includes events like flooding and droughts, heatwaves and the spread of diseases.

Did you know that rising temperatures are expected to result in an additional 15 million cases of malaria annually?

Watch the video to find out how climate change and environmental degradation will affect all of us.

How do MSF teams prepare to safely respond to Ebola outbreaks⁉️

Fighting an Ebola outbreak requires more than medical expertise.
Before deploying to affected areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Doctors Without Borders (MSF) staff receive specialised training on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to help keep themselves, their colleagues, and patients safe.

But a successful response also depends on trust. Working closely with communities, listening to concerns, and maintaining open dialogue are essential to controlling the spread of the disease.

In this video, Armand Sprecher, MSF Emergency Physician and Epidemiologist, explains why both protection and community engagement are critical in responding to Ebola. 🎥

One year ago, the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) replaced the UN-coordinated aid distribution system in Gaza.
What followed was far from safe humanitarian assistance.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) teams cared for people with gunshot wounds, crush injuries, and serious trauma they suffered while trying to get food. Children were shot, people were trampled in crowds, and many came under fire at aid distribution points.

From June to October 2025, MSF treated 1,885 people for injuries related to these food distributions and recorded at least 32 deaths at our clinics in Khan Younis.

"GHF was so humiliating; thousands of people would run towards it, then the IDF would shoot on us from fixed points. Two thirds of the injured people in Gaza I know were cases from GHF," says Mustafa, whose 17-year-old nephew was shot in the head and killed by a sniper.

Today, as plans for Gaza continue to change, MSF reminds Israel and the United States that turning humanitarian aid into a military operation can lead to serious violence and harm, and should never happen again.

Aid should never be used to control people or put them in danger.
MSF urges Israel, the United States, and everyone with influence to make sure aid is not militarised, is easy to access, and follows the principles of independence, impartiality, neutrality, and humanity.

🚨 Hospitals are meant for healing, not war.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) condemns the airstrike carried out by the Israeli army on 1 June near Jabal Amel Hospital in Sour (Tyre), a facility MSF supports. The attack killed at least four people and injured 127, including 39 hospital staff. The hospital sustained severe damage, forcing urgent patient transfers.

The day before, another MSF-supported hospital, Hiram, was also struck, injuring 13 healthcare workers. These repeated attacks reflect a grave failure to protect the medical mission. Civilians, medical staff, and health facilities must be safeguarded.

It has been about two weeks since the Ebola disease outbreak was declared and our Doctors Without Borders (MSF) teams have continued to respond to the emergency in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Uganda. Our teams are doing everything possible to support the response.

Despite security and access constraints – including border closures and flight cancellations – they are working tirelessly to ensure that vital supplies continue to arrive in affected areas. Several hundred tons of medical and logistics supplies have already been delivered to Ituri and North Kivu.

As cases continue to rise, and with the response still ramping up, the coming weeks will be critical for strengthening care capacity, accelerating testing, and maintaining access to essential healthcare in affected areas.
