Call for Entries | Herbert Prins Colosseum Awards

The Herbert Prins Colosseum Awards invite entries that recognise exceptional contributions to heritage conservation across the greater Highveld region.

We are looking for:
Conservation, Commemoration & Adaptive Reuse
Projects that revitalise buildings, places, or spaces.
Rescue & Advocacy Efforts
Initiatives protecting endangered heritage.
Research & Publications
Work advancing the understanding of Gauteng’s heritage.

Who Can Enter?
Open to the public, architects, academics, property owners, developers, and their representatives. Multiple submissions are allowed, including previously entered projects.

Submission Requirements
Entries must be submitted electronically on the prescribed form.
A letter of consent from the owner is required for applicable submissions.

Entry Fee: R1700.00

These awards honour excellence in heritage conservation while celebrating the legacy of Herbert Prins and inspiring future contributions to the built environment.

Calling all true-crime fans! Hop on board for a bone-chilling bus tour that takes you into the dark underbelly of Joburg’s criminal past.

As we go, you’ll hear the tragic story of ‘goodtime girl’ Bubbles Schroeder; investigate the mysterious deaths of Hazel Crane and Brett Kebble on adjacent bridges; uncover the grisly story of the Zoo Lake murderer, Ronald Burch; recount the farcical Glazer kidnapping; visit the Stander gang’s hideout in Houghton, and much more.
