Dignity shouldn’t be a luxury.

Period poverty affects thousands of young people in South Africa, forcing many to miss school, struggle in silence, and lose opportunities.

At Young on the Rise, we believe dignity is a right, not a privilege.

This Women’s Month, as part of our campaign, we’re speaking up about period poverty, because no one should be left behind over something as natural as a period.

On this day in 1956, over 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings to demand justice and equality for all South Africans.

Today, we honour their courage by continuing the work, building a nation where every young person, regardless of gender or circumstance, can rise with dignity, support, and opportunity.
