Suspect apprehended in Richmond

Richmond, Friday, 17 April 2026 - In the very early hours of Friday, a suspect was caught red-handed after Beagle Watch responded to an alarm activation at a Richmond property.

What happened: When an alarm was triggered at the premises, a Response Officer was immediately dispatched to investigate. On arrival, the Officer discovered a suspect inside the yard who had jumped the wall and tried to force open the door in an attempt to gain entry.

The suspect was apprehended and handed over to Brixton SAPS.

Linden, Thursday, 16 April 2026 - On Thursday, the Beagle Watch Specialised Crime Unit's quick actions resulted in the apprehension of a suspect in Linden.

What happened: Our team received an alert from the JMPD-VumaCam Control Room regarding a silver Suzuki. The vehicle was spotted in Linden and our Specialised Crime Unit immediately responded.

Working with live LPR camera hits, our team followed and intercepted the vehicle. JMPD Officers provided backup on scene, and the driver was detained by JMPD.

The vehicle was confirmed to be linked to the theft of a motorcycle and booked into the SAP13 pound.

Another win for proactive policing and seamless collaboration between Beagle Watch, VumaCam and JMPD.

Little Falls, Tuesday, 14 April 2026– On Tuesday, a joint effort between Beagle Watch, JMPD TRU, Vumacam, and Lodge Security resulted in the apprehension of two suspects.

What happened: A bakkie linked to a case involving the theft of generator batteries in the Florida area was tracked via LPR hits along Ontdekkers Road. Our Specialised Crime Unit was deployed and, following live updates from JMPD Vumacam and Beagle Watch, the vehicle was located in the parking lot of a large retailer in Little Falls.

Two suspects fled the scene on foot. The team gave chase and both suspects were successfully apprehended. In-store footage confirmed that the suspects had also been shoplifting inside the store and had dropped the stolen items before fleeing.

The suspects were detained and the vehicle impounded.

Greenside, Wednesday, 15 April 2026 - Our response to multiple simultaneous calls from clients in Greenside resulted in the apprehension of a suspect linked to a break-in involving gunfire.

Early on Wednesday morning, Beagle Watch received a panic activation reporting a break-in in progress in Greenside, followed by another call from a neighbouring address reporting gunshots.

Our Officers immediately responded and found another security company attending to a break-in at their client's premises. Suspects had forced open the gate, broke into the garage, and stole bags of clothing. The suspects had fired several shots from inside the property before fleeing the scene.

While investigating, a Beagle Watch Officer spotted a suspect jumping from an adjacent address, gave chase, and successfully apprehended him. Parkview SAPS attended and took the suspect into custody for further investigation.

Further development
A second suspect was arrested by CAP Security.

This success is the result of the excellent cooperation between Parkview SAPS, Beagle Watch and CAP Security.

Stolen motorcycle intercepted, rider handed over to SAPS

Helderkruin, Sunday, 12 April 2026 - On Sunday, our LPR network registered a hit on a motorcycle linked to an active case number, as it moved through our footprint.

Ever-alert, our CCTV operator alerted the Dispatcher, and Response Officers immediately responded.

One of our Response Officers soon intercepted the motorcycle at the corner of Wilgerood Road and Argent Avenue, with a second Response Officer providing backup.

SAPS responded to the scene. Both the rider and the motorcycle were taken to Roodepoort SAPS for further investigation.

Another reminder that our LPR network, CCTV specialists and Response Officers work around the clock to keep our communities safe.

Successful arrest after break-in at non-client

Emmarentia, Saturday, 11 April 2026 - The quick and efficient actions by Beagle Watch Response Officers led to the arrest of a suspect following a break-in at a non-client in Emmarentia.

In the very early hours of Saturday, our Patrolling Officer in Emmarentia reported a break-in at a non-client in Emmarentia.

Our Officer spotted one of the suspects concealed alongside a neighbouring property and immediately called for back-up. Various other Beagle Watch units immediately responded and pursued the suspect on foot through the surrounding streets, apprehending him along Orange Road.

The suspect was brought back to the scene, where the victim positively identified him.

Parkview SAPS was already on scene and took the suspect into custody.

Beagle Watch tracks cloned vehicle from Emmarentia to Fairland, driver arrested

Fairland, Thursday, 9 April 2026 - A Beagle Watch LPR alert led to the successful interception of a cloned vehicle and the arrest of its driver in Fairland.

What happened An LPR alert was triggered for a wanted white Nissan NP200 spotted at the corner of Judith Road and Hill Road in Emmarentia, travelling in the direction of Beyers Naudé Drive.

Beagle Watch area vehicles were immediately notified to monitor the route, and our CCTV cameras subsequently confirmed the vehicle passing the intersection of West Park Road and Beyers Naudé Drive. Response Officers received continuous updates as new camera hits were received.

A Beagle Watch Response Officer successfully intercepted the vehicle on Beyers Naudé Drive, just before Willson Street in Fairland. JMPD were notified and responded to the scene, taking both the vehicle and the driver into custody for further investigation.

CLONED VEHICLE INTERCEPTED

Hurlingham, Wednesday, 8 April 2026 - Beagle Watch successfully followed and intercepted a cloned vehicle following LPR hits in various areas across our footprint.

What happened
Beagle Watch's LPR system flagged the vehicle in the Craighall Park area. Response Officers searched the area but were unable to locate it at first. A second LPR hit was received in Craighall shortly afterwards, with the vehicle seen moving towards Hurlingham.

A Beagle Watch Response Officer spotted the vehicle entering a boomed area on Iona Drive and the vehicle was successfully intercepted in the enclosure. JMPD officers also attended to the scene.

The vehicle was taken to the Lenasia SAP13 pound for further investigation.

Northcliff, Tuesday, 7 April 2026 - A vehicle flagged as stolen was successfully identified and intercepted by the Beagle Watch Specialised Crime Unit after an active case number from Sunnyside SAPS linked the vehicle to an outstanding report.

The vehicle, an Uber rental, was stolen but previously recovered by the owner. However, the recovery was never cleared, leaving the stolen vehicle flag active on the system. When the vehicle entered our footprint, our Specialised Crime Unit acted on the outstanding case number and intercepted the vehicle. Investigations are ongoing. JMPD TRU was also on the scene.

Alert Beagle Watch Officer's quick actions lead to successful arrest of suspect and recovery of stolen goods

Melville, Monday, 6 April 2026 - A sharp-eyed Beagle Watch Response Officer on patrol spotted two suspects behaving suspiciously in the street – and the quick thinking that followed led to an arrest and full recovery of stolen property.

Closer inspection revealed a grey BMW parked outside a client's home with its window smashed. The suspect was found in possession of two suitcases of clothing, a speaker bar, an axe, and a child's car seat – all confirmed stolen items. One suspect was apprehended on scene. All stolen goods were recovered in full.

Brixton SAPS responded and took the suspect into custody. Well done to the Response Officer involved – exactly the kind of proactive patrolling that makes a difference. 🚨

Three suspects linked to serious crimes apprehended

Emmarentia, Sunday, 5 April 2026 - Three suspects wanted in connection with serious crimes are off the streets – thanks to our LPR technology, highly competent teams, and collaboration with JMPD.

What happened: An alert via the JMPD control room flagged a white Audi A4 linked to serious crimes. Our CCTV operator immediately began tracking the vehicle, feeding live updates to our dispatcher while Response Officers moved to intercept. Just before midnight, the vehicle was located at the corner of Barry Hertzog Avenue and Linden Road, where officers secured the scene until JMPD arrived.

All three suspects, along with the vehicle, were transported to SAPS Johannesburg Central for further investigation.
