Indigenous Peoples Network of Southern Africa (IPNeSA) Delegates in Cali

Yesterday, various states updated the conference regarding their program and implementation of the Goals and Targets of the CBD (Convention on Biological Diversity). South African government made a presentation but did not include the Indigenous San and Khoe People. Botswana and Namibia Governments did not make any submissions. It's a cause for concern, because this platform is where countries called parties come and account. We will engage the governments today.

Indigenous Peoples Network of Southern Africa (IPNeSA) currently in the African Governments Delegates Caucus

The representatives of African Governments are currently in a Caucus at the COP 16, reporting back and reflecting on yesterday's SBI submissions.

They are reporting that Capacity Building and Lack of Financial Support is a serious problem. We will hopefully give you greater clarity on their position as the conference progress.

Indigenous Peoples Network of Southern Africa (IPNeSA) attended the first Africa Caucus at COP 16 SBI

IPNeSA would like to appreciate the open mindedness of the African Leaders at COP 16 SBI Meeting. We are relieved to know that the Africa Caucus Representatives support our position on Sustainable Use through both Customary and Commercial practice.

Our attendance of COP 16 has already started delivering on our aims and objectives. We will now continue to lobby governments of Namibia, South Africa, Botswana and other African and world governments for our extended objectives. We are having a good day at the office.
