Our heart for your heart 🙏🏽

"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it".
- Atticus Finch

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

Sight loading...

"Our daily deeds as ordinary South Africans must produce an actual South African reality that will reinforce humanity’s belief in justice, strenthen its confidence in the nobility of the human soul, and sustain all our hopes for a glorious life for all."
- Nelson Mandela

Nelson the Great 🙏🏽🙌🏾

“I am fundamentally an optimist. Part of being optimistic is keeping one’s head pointed toward the sun, one’s feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death.”

"Working in my garden and reading my Bible."

When we asked 73-year-old Myodzanga what she missed most after losing her sight 12 years ago, her answer wasn't complicated.

After her cataract surgery, she'll once again be able to tend her home, work in her garden, and read God's Word for herself.

Many of our patients ask if they can take a Bible home - often in their own mother-tongue. Through a generous ministry and humanatarian partner, MAF, we're able to provide a Bible to every patient who requests one.

Would you gift HOPE into the hands of someone like Myodzanga?

2026's MANDELA DAY DRIVE: Your gift can help provide a Bible that will travel home with a patient to their family and village. 🧡📖

Over the years, Flying for Life has noticed a recurring request from many patients in the rural communities we serve: they ask for a Bible to take home - often in their own mother tongue. For many, it is a source of hope, comfort and spiritual encouragement as they begin this new chapter of restored sight.

While our medical programme remains entirely focused on restoring vision, we also recognise that wellbeing extends beyond physical healing. In response to these patient requests, we thank MAF who have offered to raise the funds needed to provide a Bible to any patient who would like one.

John is 60 years old; he lost his sight last year.

He has two children and he is the breadwinner.

Once he regains his sight John most looks forward to spending time working in his garden again.

The pressure of being a breadwinner, only to lose your livelihood unnecessarily. A simple operation is all that’s needed, yet the waiting list stretches on for years. This is the painful reality we are committed to changing.

Thank you for holding up the voice of forgotten communities.
