Malibongwe- Empowering Mothers

Malibongwe- Empowering Mothers Malibongwe is a single mother empowerment project of African Havens Foundation. The mornings are spent teaching basic life skills.

We cover a range of topics: We have permission to use the Jumpstart SA life skills materials

The afternoons are spent teaching crafts using provided materials. We encourage the ladies to sell these crafts and start earning some income immediately. This part of the program has become so successful that we are beginning to expand by investing R300 ($30) in each woman and that allows them to buy t

heir own materials for various crafts. They are then able to make items, sell them, and create small businesses as they continue to make and sell these items

Additionally, we provide a hot meal for the ladies on Wednesdays, where we teach them how to prepare healthy and nutritious meals for their families on a budget.
