Of all the hats we wear and all the titles that embody our being that of being a mother is the greatest because that is the testament of how God entrusted us to carry for him the work of bringing his image on earth.
When that title/ job is shaken, no words can console us and noone can say anything that makes us feel better. nothing anyone says today or in future can make sense of your loss and we cannot stand and say we know how you feel. We can only pray that God strengthens you today and always as you process the loss of your child.

Mental health matters need to be addressed more and the challenges people face spoken of in all institutions. Amongst the female leaders in mental health matter in Africa is who is the founder of ”Africa’s Mental Health Matters".
Vanessa Adebayo started this initiative in order to bring awareness to mental health amongst the youth population in Africa. The purpose of this initiative is to destigmatize the misconceptions young people may have about mental health and, furthermore, encourage young people to seek treatment, if needed. Vanessa’s experience at Accra Psychiatric Hospital, during her semester spent in Ghana while attending New York University’s (NYU) Global Public Health program, had an impact in the way she views mental health and the mental health care delivery system on the continent of Africa. She was inspired to write her Master’s thesis on the mental health care delivery system in Ghana and the effectiveness of social marketing campaigns to change attitudes and behaviors towards mental illness and encourage mental health treatment amongst youth. Vanessa started this Initiative on June 2018.
