TNR - 14 August 2026 - Sharonlea - Round 3
🐾 One complex, four cats & lots of Tuna! 🐾
We were called to assist with TNR of a mommy cat and her baby at a complex where we have helped with TNR before. ❤️
Cat # 1 Mommy cat was caught easily and taken to the vet for the full works: a health check 🩺, sterilisation, vaccinations💉and tick, flea and deworming treatment. Once she was given the all-clear, she was safely returned to her colony. 🐱💉❤️
Cat # 2 Her little one, however, was not nearly as cooperative! This tiny escape artist took us two days and an entire tin of tuna before we finally managed to catch him. 😂🐟 But we got there, and baby is now safely in our care. 🥰
Cat # 3 We also trapped a large feral male. Judging by the battle scars covering him, this boy has been defending his territory relentlessly. Sadly, he tested positive for FIV (feline AIDS). Given his condition, we made the difficult decision to have him humanely put to sleep, ending his suffering peacefully. 🌈💔
Cat # 4 And then there was our final kitty of the round… who turned out not to be feral at all! 😹 This very confused, tame boy had simply ventured out hoping to score himself a midnight snack 🐟 and instead found himself temporarily in kitty jail🙀. After a quick cuddle and plenty of purrs, he was sent back on his way to his family. 🐾❤️
Four cats, very different stories, but one important mission: TNR saves lives, prevents unwanted litters and helps improve the lives of community cats.
Another successful round of TNR, with a few tears, plenty of tuna and a happy ending for most. ❤️🐾
