Jozi Rumble is a significant part of African debating's history. In part, this is because it has been hailed as the biggest Open on the African continent. And truly;
Jozi Rumble 2019, by metric of attendance, was Africa's largest Open to date. Its impact also comes with recognising the historic partnership of Jozi Rumble and Accra Open. The joint Open in 2020 signified the resilient union within the circuit, especially during the trying and uncertain pandemic times. This is the legacy that the tournament's name carries. Jozi Rumble made its Comeback in 2022. Last year, it cemented its Legacy.
This year, as we build up to the 2024 edition of the tournament, we want to celebrate the Extension of the marvel that is Jozi Rumble. As the circuit gears to run after walking gingerly since the pandemic's disruption, 2024 will be the year we extend Jozi Rumble's significance, both now and in the future, to create a platform that will uphold the legacy of the Rumble and build us up to hosting PAUDC 2025.
Jozi Rumble 2024 will expand the historic legacy of the Open and be held at the University of the Witwatersrand from the 28th to the 31st of March 2024. May the odds be ever in your favour.

Debate as a sport and a lifestyle serves as a social unifier and a platform to nurture ideas worth sharing. The Royalty Pact Debate Academy & Witwatersrand Debating Union are some of the biggest African contributors to this noble activity, with a long history of training debaters, adjudicators and coaches, and organising large-scale tournaments. We turn our sites towards hosting the 17th edition of the Pan African Universities Debating Championship with eagerness to apply our collective experience, which we have accumulated throughout our work towards creating the most ideal tournament possible. Please be on the lookout of our bid, which will summarise our hopes and aspirations to host PAUDC 2025 in Mzansi Africa. šŸ‘ŒšŸæšŸ”„

Cub Grill is a World Schools Style debate tournament based in Johannesburg, and organized by the Wits Debating Union. Historically, it has played the role of bridging the gap between local underprivileged learners that would like to speak, and traditionally competitive teams. It has served as an important community building exercise by making socially important discourse accessible while maintaining competitive integrity.

Unfortunately, the tournament and it's aims were sad victims of the recent pandemic. Four years after the last edition in 2019, we are back to reinstate the schools debate calendar staple. This edition promises to deliver on competitive motions, and an engaging experience for a range of school speakers.
