The South African LGBT+ Management Forum (or "The Forum") exists to support companies and employee LGBT+ groups to create safe and equitable workplaces.

We focus on running the South African Workplace Equality Index and writing publications. The South African LGBT+ Management Forum works with companies across South Africa to create safe and equitable workplaces that enable Le***an, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) professionals to contribute to their fullest potential. Our primary work involves running the flagship South African workplace equa

lity index (SAWEI) and developing resources for business leaders. Our purpose is to create a safe and equitable workplace for all regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and expression by networking, educating, supporting, leading and celebrating.

Our heritage lives in how we treat each other every day. Today we honour the cultures, languages and q***r stories that shape SA — and we call on employers to make dignity, safety and fair access real at work.

SAWEI 2026 is open — a simple, evidence-light workplace framework to turn equality into daily practice.

This Women’s Month, the South African LGBT+ Management Forum celebrates the strength, leadership, and lived experiences of women across all sectors—especially those at the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, disability, and culture.

Through our flagship benchmark, the South African Workplace Equality Index (SAWEI), we work with organisations to ensure policy becomes practice—driving environments where all women, including le***an, bisexual, transgender, q***r, and intersex women, can thrive and lead authentically.

We recognise the employers actively closing equity gaps, championing inclusive leadership, and creating workplaces where every woman belongs.
