Woodside Sanctuary provides full-time residential care to people with profound intellectual disabilities.

Since our inception in 1955, Woodside Sanctuary has worked towards building an infrastructure, which serves as a place of safety for families who have children requiring specialized care and are unable to remain within the family unit. The main aim of the Sanctuary is to provide excellence in holistic care and stimulation for profoundly intellectually disabled children and adults, offering help an

d hope to discouraged families, as well as love and care. Today, Woodside Sanctuary provides full-time residential care to 86 persons with severe/profound intellectual disability. Our approach continues to be holistic in nature and incorporates 24 hour a day nursing care, various forms of therapy, residential care (full-time and respite) as well as rehabilitation and stimulation programmes.

Dear Helen Zille

We are reaching out in the hope that you may be able to assist us with an urgent matter.

Woodside Sanctuary is a non-profit organisation in Auckland Park that provides full-time residential care for adults with profound intellectual and physical disabilities. Since yesterday morning, we have had a major water leak after a pipe on our property appears to have been damaged during an attempted theft or act of vandalism.

The water has now been flowing continuously for more than 26 hours.

We reported the issue to Johannesburg Water immediately and have been issued the following reference numbers:
• JWCC-401823267
• CSDSRV0095083

Our Auckland Park Ward Councilor has also escalated the matter directly to Johannesburg Water Depot management, but unfortunately no one has come to assess or repair the leak.

At a time when many Johannesburg communities are experiencing severe water shortages, it is deeply concerning to watch such a large volume of water being wasted while we wait for assistance.

We would be incredibly grateful if you could help bring attention to this matter so that it can be resolved as soon as possible.

Today, we stand together to raise awareness about hepatitis and the importance of protecting our liver health.

Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver that can affect anyone. The good news is that many forms of hepatitis can be prevented, and early testing and treatment can save lives.

At Woodside Sanctuary, we believe that education is one of the most powerful tools for building healthier communities. By learning the facts, encouraging early testing, and supporting those affected, we can help reduce stigma and improve lives.
