Imbali is very proud to announce that our very own Portia Atheela Portia Thenjwayo has been nominated as a finalist in the 2026 National Arts and Culture Awards in the category ‘outstanding crafter’. This is for her exceptional woven lampshades. Portia is Imbali’s administrator, she also teaches weaving, embroidery and business skills at Imbali. In addition to all of this Portia runs her own creative business Interthread We wish her a hearty congratulations on this nomination. The award ceremony will be held at Sun City this Friday.
