Hachac Foundation Founder Completes Social Entrepreneurship Training

Our Founder, Tshegofatso Motene, spent the past two days attending a Social Entrepreneurship Training Workshop at Apollo Conferencing Hotel, organised by the Southern African Association of Youth Clubs (SAAYC) and facilitated by Mr Itumeleng Hlapane.

The two-day training focused on social entrepreneurship, sustainability, organisational development and building impactful initiatives that respond to real challenges within communities.

The training also provided an opportunity to engage with other organisations, exchange ideas and strengthen our understanding of how social enterprises and community-based organisations can create sustainable impact.

A significant highlight was Hachac Foundation receiving a Participation Certificate in recognition of the work we are doing and our contribution to community development.

We are grateful to SAAYC for creating spaces that support learning, capacity building and the growth of organisations working to make a difference.

As Hachac Foundation continues to grow, we remain committed to learning, strengthening our organisation and building sustainable solutions that create meaningful opportunities for the communities we serve.

What if children didn't have to wait until they were adults to have a say in the decisions that affect their future?

The Hachac Foundation Children's Advisory Council is creating a space for children aged 10–17 to share their ideas, influence Hachac programmes and learn how to participate in real decision-making spaces.

You don't have to be the top student.
You don't need a long list of achievements.
We want to hear what YOU think.

Because Help A Child Have A Career starts long before the career.

From Learners to Leaders

Yesterday, HACHAC Foundation's Sports Academy came to life through a participant-led event planned and organised by Group 1 of our National Youth Service learnership participants.

This wasn't just about sport. It was about giving young people the opportunity to plan, lead, coordinate and deliver something of their own.

Through the event, our participants put their workplace skills into practice, developing their teamwork, communication, leadership, event planning, problem-solving and community engagement skills.

At HACHAC Foundation, we believe young people shouldn't only be told about opportunities. They should be given the opportunity to create them.

A big congratulations to Group 1 for taking an idea from planning to implementation.

This is what youth development looks like when young people are trusted with responsibility.

We are incredibly proud of our Founder, Tshegofatso Motene, who was invited to speak at this year’s Women’s Day celebration under the theme:

“Give to Gain, Build to Last.”

Her message was a powerful reminder that women do not need another voice telling them that they can be anything.

They are already so much more.

Through her work in youth development, leadership and community building, our Founder continues to champion the belief that our greatest impact is not only in what we achieve for ourselves, but in what we make possible for others.

Her call was simple:

Give what you have.
Lift someone as you rise.
Build something that lasts beyond you.

We celebrate our Founder for continuing to use her voice, experience and vision to create spaces where others can grow.

Today at the Hachac Foundation Tech Bootcamp, our learners explored coding using LEGO bricks. Through hands-on activities, they learned key programming concepts such as sequencing, logical thinking, problem-solving, and algorithms in an engaging and interactive way.

Monday was a memorable day at Hachac Foundation as we welcomed students from the University of Venda, who are studying Youth in Development, to our facilities. We are excited to have them begin their internship journey with Hachac Foundation in collaboration with our partner, the City of Johannesburg Department of Social Development. We look forward to supporting their growth while they contribute to meaningful community development.

We also had the pleasure of sharing generous goodies from our sponsor, Tiger Brands, with our National Youth Service learnership participants. Thank you to Tiger Brands for your continued support and for investing in the well-being of our young people.

Yesterday, Hachac Foundation was honoured to be part of the 67 Minutes for Mandela Day – Prep a Child for School initiative hosted by Bontle Ba Lefatshe Community Project in Chiawelo.

Together with our valued partners Envirocentral, Mellolee, and Chef Lesego, we spent the day giving back to the community through creativity, learning, and service.

Our Cloud Art and Build Lab programmes gave children the opportunity to express themselves, explore their creativity, and learn through hands-on activities. Thank you to everyone who made the day meaningful and impactful. Together, we continue to inspire, empower, and build brighter futures—one child at a time.
