Sometimes hope looks like sitting side by side over a homework book.

Every week, learners from Reddam House, Bedforview spend time with our children, helping with homework, sharing stories, laughing together and simply showing up.

But over the years, these visits have become about so much more than schoolwork.

Real friendships have grown. Familiar faces have become trusted ones. Our children look forward to seeing the same people return, week after week, building relationships rooted in consistency, kindness and care.

Because sometimes the greatest gift you can give a child is your time, and the promise that you will keep showing up. 💛

The Child and Youth Care Worker qualification is designed for real work in real environments. It goes far beyond classroom theory; learners are assessed through practical application, guided reflection and structured supervision in their day-to-day care settings.

By the end of the programme, practitioners are better equipped to:
• Plan and run consistent daily programmes
• Support children’s emotional and developmental needs
• Apply behaviour support strategies confidently
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Maintain safe, structured care environments

At Hearts of Hope, your support helps us provide the everyday essentials our children need to feel safe, cared for, and supported, from nutritious meals and school supplies to clothing, toiletries, medical care, and so much more.

Every amount matters.

R100 a month can help provide basic essentials.
R200 a month can help make sure our children have what they need for daily care.
R500 a month can help support food, clothing, education, and the running of a safe and loving home.

Some nights are about the event. This one was about the people. 🍷❤️

The conversations, the laughter, the bidding, the generosity and the incredible feeling of having so many people in one room, all showing up for the same reason.

Our 2026 Hearts of Hope Wine Auction was a beautiful reminder of what community can do.

Every guest who joined us, every supporter who contributed, every partner who helped bring the evening together and every person who raised their hand to bid played a part in supporting the children in our care.

These photos capture just a little of what made the night so special: connection, joy and a whole lot of heart.

Our precious P turned 2 recently. 🎂💛

What a gift this little girl has been to all of us.

P came into our world after enduring unimaginable trauma, including severe injuries from rat bites. Yet from the very beginning, her resilience, determination and incredible spirit have shone through.

Today, she is a little girl filled with laughter, joy and an enormous personality. She is determined, deeply caring towards others, and has a way of reminding us every day just how powerful hope can be.

Watching P grow, heal and discover the joy of simply being a child has been one of the greatest privileges.

Happy 2nd birthday, precious girl. May your world always be filled with love, laughter, safety and so much joy. 💛✨
