IRFAfrica The IRFA therefore depends on total support from all parties concerned with the retirement benefit provision industry.

The Institute of Retirement Funds Africa (IRFA) is an association that represents and promotes the interests of the retirement industry in South Africa and across the continent, to the ultimate benefit of the members of retirement funds. The most important function of the IRFA is to represent the retirement industry in negotiations with government authorities and regulators, which would include commenting on legislation and tax matters affecting retirement funds/pensioners etc.

IRFA is proud that our Executive Officer, Wayne Hiller Van Rensburg, will serve as a moderator at the 2nd PSSF Pan-African Pensions Conference.

Under the theme, “From Reform to Reality – Building Pension Systems That Work for Africa,” the conference will bring together leaders and professionals to explore the practical steps needed to strengthen pension systems across the continent.

Collaboration, sound governance and shared learning remain essential to building sustainable retirement systems that serve more people and deliver meaningful outcomes.

We look forward to the discussion in Mombasa from 18–20 November 2026.
