PLEASE CONSIDER THIS!

In the challenging few days that we have ahead of us, cool heads will prevail whilst hot heads will fail. It will just take one spark to set off this tinder box so please try and maintain the moral high ground and try not to react to provocation and intimidation. The EFF will be looking for any excuse to turn this in to something that nobody wants to be a part of.

If protestors passing you are peaceful and respectful (however unlikely that might be) do not engage them, let them pass.

Please ensure that you have the contact details of your direct neighbours, they are your closest point of assistance and refuge if necessary. All of the security companies will be on high alert and it goes without saying that they should be alerted in the event that there are needed.

It is unlikely that this protest will spill in to the suburbs, they do not get the exposure that they seek there, but anything can happen.

Lastly and most importantly, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEFEND YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY! If appropriate force is necessary and appropriate then use it.

Fellow Greensiders I feel that I need to share this with you.

Took a leap of faith today and converted my petrol generator to gas (yes it’s possible). Was incredibly skeptical and told the guys to install it and if it works I will pay.

It is absolutely incredible! The generator runs smoother and quieter and the best part is that I get 10 hours on a full tank of fuel (R420) and will get 20 hours on a 19kg gas cylinder(R580), just over half the running cost.

I have negotiated a discount for Greenside Residents so please reach out if you are interested.

You will notice in the one pic that the fuel is turned off and the generator is running. I will add a video in the comments.

ROI is almost immediate and no more stinky cans of petrol backwards and forwards to the garage. Runs on a dual carburetor so if you happen to run out of gas you still have petrol as a back up.

If anyone would like to see it running at my house you are most welcome to come and visit, you might even score a cup of coffee!!

Greetings Neighbours

My name is Kevin Parker and I live at number 77 Green Way and have done so for the past 22 years.

I am sure that most of you will have noticed the guy that sits reading at the four way stop at the upper end of Green Way. His name is Cornelius, he survives by collecting recyclable items which he now stores on my property to enable him to go and do what he needs to do without having to carry everything with him. He has made significant progress as a result of having somewhere to store his bounty.

May I please ask anyone that is willing to contribute just to put your recyclable items in black bags for him and let me know where you are and I will personally come and collect it. Once he has a full load I take him to the depot and he gets paid for what he has.

He has never asked me for one cent and doesn’t beg and is a decent human being that has just found himself in a less than desirable situation.

I would appreciate just the small gesture of making available whatever can possibly be recycled or might have any value to him that you are discarding. As they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

I look forward to hearing from you and making this man’s life just a little more bearable!

I am looking for a fridge that is in working order in any condition for a crèche/childrens home in Thembisa. One lady looks after 40+ children between one and four years old. The parents cannot pay and the majority of them are HIV Positive. The crèche has also been abandoned by the state and they no longer receive and contributions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
