As the Co-Chair of the Multistakeholder Task Force supporting preparations for the 2026 United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS, Priscilla Ama Addo, Junior Project Officer at Y+ Global, is helping ensure youth and community voices are reflected throughout the process.

Across Namibia, the lived realities of s*x workers are shifting in ways that are often unseen, undocumented, and misunderstood. Through the voice of Rachel Love Gawases, an activist, community leader, and transgender s*x worker, these experiences reveal a deeper story of resilience, loss, and survival.

Namibia remains one of the countries most affected by HIV in Southern Africa, with an estimated adult prevalence of 9.7% according to the Centre for Disease Control {CDC). Yet within this national picture, key populations such as s*x workers continue to carry a disproportionate burden.
