ing his kingdom in the city. God was concerned about the great city Nineveh. Jesus cried about Jerusalem. There is a special place in God’s heart for cities. And today, more and more people are living in cities. According to the UN, more than half the world's population already lives in cities, and by 2050, it might be as much as 86% of the developed world and 64% of the developing world. People are coming to the city, and we need to be ready and equipped to minister to their needs. During this DTS, we want to have an experience with God within the unique urban landscapes of Pretoria and Johannesburg in the province of Gauteng. Gauteng - the place of gold - is the administrative and economical capital of South Africa. It is a vibrant, cosmopolitan, but still uniquely African megalopolis, with around 15 million people living within its borders. If we have no personal relationship, and personal experience with God, we will have nothing to express. But if we stop at the experience, and don’t express, it becomes gluttony. We become spiritually ‘fat’, is we keep to ourselves what God has given us. A city is a unique landscape that needs unique methods to bring the good news of Jesus. During the DTS we will explore our creative talents and how God wants us to use them to express our journey with him, and his heart for the city and the world.
