📌PAMRO Conference Postponed to 2027 📌
After careful deliberation, the Board of the Pan African Media Research Organisation (PAMRO) has decided to postpone the annual PAMRO Conference originally scheduled for 2026.
The conference will now take place from Sunday, 22 August to Tuesday, 24 August 2027 at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali, Rwanda.
This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in response to concerns raised by some delegates and their organisations regarding travel to the broader Great Lakes region.
PAMRO attracts delegates from across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, and several companies have implemented travel policies that place restrictions on travel to countries in proximity to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) following the Ebola outbreak in parts of the DRC.
While Rwanda remains a safe and attractive destination for international conferences, PAMRO recognizes the importance of ensuring that all delegates are able to attend without facing corporate travel limitations.
As Africa's leading media research conference, PAMRO places great value on the participation, networking, and exchange of ideas between local and international delegates, and believes that postponing the event will help maximize attendance and ensure the best possible experience for all participants.
The decision to postpone the conference is in no way a reflection on Rwanda as a host destination or on the Government of Rwanda.
PAMRO remains fully committed to hosting a successful conference in Kigali and looks forward to welcoming delegates in August 2027.
Oscar Tshifure, President of PAMRO, said:
"PAMRO brings together media research professionals from across Africa and around the world.
Following feedback from some delegates and their organizations regarding corporate travel policies linked to the Ebola outbreak in the DRC, we have taken the cautious decision to move the conference to 2027.
Our priority is to ensure maximum participation and to create the best possible platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and networking.
We remain excited about Kigali as our host city and look forward to welcoming delegates to Rwanda in 2027.”
