This is Mbalenhle. She runs a small catering business in KwaMashu, built through hard work, skill and pure determination.
She is already serving clients. Already earning. Already building.
But like many young entrepreneurs, what holds her back is access to the tools she needs to grow.
With the right support, she can expand her business and create a more stable income for her family.
This is what GBL is about โ€“ helping people move from surviving to growing, with both equipment and ongoing support.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Hear her story and help support her next step.

Africa's digital future depends on trusted, interoperable systems that make it easier and safer for people and businesses to participate in the regional economy.

In his latest blog, FinMark Trust's Head of SADC Financial Inclusion Programme, Damola Owolade explores how regional electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) frameworks and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) can support safer cross-border financial services, simplify customer onboarding, strengthen regulatory compliance, deepen financial inclusion and advance regional integration.

This work forms part of FinMark Trust's partnership with Co-Develop, and contributes to the growing conversation on building inclusive digital public infrastructure that works for everyone.

This Youth Month, weโ€™re celebrating young people building real livelihoods from the ground up.

These arenโ€™t distant stories. They are everyday realities. A young entrepreneur building a jewellery business from recycled materials, a hairdresser turning a home-based salon into something more stable, a caterer trying to grow her business.

Ambition is their driver, but they need more than that. They need access to the right tools and ongoing support to help them grow with confidence. Through GBL, weโ€™ve seen what happens when that support is provided: businesses grow, incomes stabilise, and families benefit.

Now six entrepreneurs are ready for their next step.
With your support, they can move from surviving to growing โ€“ and build something lasting.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Follow their stories. Support their journey. Help unlock their next stage of growth.
