We are proud to announce a powerful step forward for Tanie Codes Organisation 🇿🇦✨

Tanie Codes is now in partnership with Cisco Networking Academy 🤝🏽 in collaboration with TECH SOCIETY , our sustainability and community-building arm dedicated to empowering women in technology.

This partnership represents more than access it represents opportunity, scale, and long-term impact.

Through Cisco’s NetAcad platform, our community will gain access to:

✨ Industry-relevant courses in networking, cybersecurity, AI, and more
✨ Flexible learning pathways instructor-led and self-paced
✨ Globally recognised certifications, from entry-level support roles to advanced networking pathways

Together with HER Tech Society, we are extending this opportunity to a growing community of 250+ women from townships, informal settlements, and peri-urban areas many of whom are self-taught, unemployed, or transitioning into tech careers.

This is where our model comes to life.

Through Tanie Codes, we introduce and equip young girls with foundational digital skills.
Through HER Tech Society, we create sustainable pathways connecting women to opportunities, networks, and career growth in the tech industry.

With Cisco Networking Academy, we are strengthening this pipeline ensuring that our community doesn’t just learn, but progresses into globally recognised, industry-aligned careers.

We are not just teaching tech.
We are building an ecosystem for access, growth, and sustainability.

The future is being built and our community is part of it 🩵

🩵🌍Yesterday, Tanie Codes Org had the privilege of participating in the SEANAMARENA INC Career Expo at Grace Bible Church in Pimville, Soweto. 🩵🇿🇦

We shared with learners about the power of technology, coding, and digital skills in shaping future careers. It was inspiring to connect with young minds eager to explore opportunities in ICT and beyond.

📍 STEM & Aviation Outreach – 5 August 2025
🎓 150 Maths & Science learners (Grades 10–12)
Theme: “I Am My Sister’s Keeper”

Today, Tanie Codes Org had the privilege of being part of an incredible outreach hosted at Athlone Girls High School ,aimed at inspiring, equipping, and empowering young girls to take up space in STEM and aviation fields.

Our founder, Tanaka Dhliwayo Dhliwayo, shared her journey as a young woman in tech from Soweto ,showing that you don’t need permission to dream big, you just need to start. From coding with no laptop to tutoring learners in township classrooms, her message was simple but powerful:

“Your background is not your barrier , it’s your story. And that story belongs in STEM.”

Through storytelling, open conversation, a quiz (with giveaways!), and closing affirmations, the girls were reminded that:
1.They belong in aviation, engineering, coding, and innovation
2.They can access real opportunities using free learning platforms
3.They are each other’s keepers ,and stronger when they rise together

A heartfelt thank you to Thandeka Sishi and the We Were Once Them team for including us in such a purposeful initiative. The future of STEM is female and today, we saw it in action.

Follow Codes Org for more township-based STEM initiatives, school expos, and coding clubs for girls and youth.
