A massive thank you goes out to our wonderful community organisations.

We received a message about a fallen tree in Sterkbos Street which is blocking the entire road. We put a message out to our emergency teams and they assisted in full force.

A massive thank you to Tree felling ZA, CERS Community Emergency Response Service, City Parks and SCP Fire and Rescue who came out to remove the tree in less than an hour.

Yesterday there was a near serious accident on the corner of JG Strydom and 9th Ave due to no visible signs to make residents aware of the intersection.

Over the past few weeks we have been asking Johannesburg Roads Agency to come and make the intersection safe. This is after criminals vandalized all the traffic lights just to get to the cables inside.

Our request has been to place temporary stop signs at this intersection as many people driving this road, might not be familiar with the intersection. Also the lines are not clearly visible.

Yes, the driver was speeding and probably not paying attention, but luckily the driver of the BMW was, and slammed on brakes to avoid the collision.

Dada Morero City of Joburg what are you doing or are you waiting for someone to be seriously injured or killed? If you don't have the funds to install stop signs let us know. We are happy to get it done.

🎄 It’s a little bit like Christmas Cheer… just in September!🎄

And this time, Santa had absolutely nothing to do with it! 😉

The Panorama Residents Association has been patiently logging calls and waiting for the JRA to attend to the potholes across our area. Unfortunately, when it comes to repairing them, JRA has been noticeably missing in action.

So, when we do something, we go big! 💪

Today, the PRA took matters into our own hands and used 200 bags of tar to repair as many potholes as we could.

To put that into perspective, that’s 5 tons of tar!

We strongly believe in collaboration with the relevant entities and will continue engaging with them. But sadly, we simply cannot keep waiting for a plant to be fixed, or for whatever the next excuse may be.

So, rather than just complain about the problem, we decided to make a difference ourselves.

None of this would be possible without our residents. Your continued support and your decision to renew your PRA membership every year directly enables us to take action and invest back into our community.

A huge thank you also goes to The Hire Shop in Weltevredenpark at The Valley Shopping Centre for your sponsorship of the compactors, Hillfox Foodlovers Market who assisted us with temporary storage of all these bags and to our supplier Robust Road Repairs, who is always willing to come to our rescue with those last-minute deliveries.

200 bags. 5 tons. A lot of potholes made a little bit better.

What did the Panorama@Work team get up to today? 👷♻️

Today we partnered with New Era Waste, who generously supplied a skip bin, to tackle a massive clean-up operation at Bergkaree Park. The park was covered in litter and illegally dumped waste, but together we worked hard to restore the area and make it cleaner and safer for our community.

By the end of the clean-up, we had filled an entire skip bin with refuse, waste, and even an old bed that had been dumped there.

A huge thank you to Chad from New Era Waste for stepping up and assisting us with a skip bin free of charge after hearing about the project and the difference it would make in the community. Your support truly makes a difference!

Residents of Ward 89 have now been without electricity for more than 36 hours. Contractors were only appointed this morning to begin locating the fault.

Upon inspecting the affected area, it appears that one of the damaged cables is located inside the old JG Strydom substation. Following a fire at the facility, all equipment was removed, but the cables were left inside an open trench and extended outside to where the mini substations are currently installed.

This issue has been raised with City Power Johannesburg - Official_Page on numerous occasions as a serious safety and infrastructure risk. Displaced individuals have since occupied the inside of the old substation, and repeated requests have been made to have the site properly secured and locked. Despite these concerns, City Power has failed to take the necessary steps to safeguard its own infrastructure.

This raises several important questions: Was this cable fault caused by aging infrastructure, attempted cable theft, or deliberate sabotage? And perhaps more importantly, why has City Power failed to secure and protect its infrastructure despite repeated warnings and requests?

Residents deserve answers, and more importantly, action.

Another productive two weekends for the Panorama@Work team! 👏

Our team has been hard at work cutting grass across the Panorama area, helping to keep our community clean, neat, and well maintained. We have also started skoffeling along JG Strydom and after just one day, the difference is already massive. It’s amazing to see the impact that dedicated work and community effort can have in such a short time.

This is exactly why resident support matters.
