Home of Hope for Girls is an NPO organization that works to help commercially and sexually exploited children, victims of human trafficking, orphans, child-headed families and other vulnerable groups who may be infected or affected by HIV / AIDS or TB so that they are able to take control of their lives and be integrated back into society. We are committed to using a holistic and sustainable appr
oach in our rehabilitation and education programmes in order to empower these young Girls and enable them to be integrated back into society and become self-sustainable young adults. At any one time we have between 45 and 50 young Girls resident at Home of Hope. When a young Girl enters Home of Hope, she joins a family. Mam' Khanyi, as she is affectionately and respectfully known, is their Mother while they live here. The foundation of Home of Hope is love, family and mutual respect. Home of Hope Shelter in Hillbrow is housed in two one-bedroomed flats. The upstairs flat has 24 double bunk beds which take up the entire flat. These are the sleeping quarters. The downstairs flat is where meals are served, and the homework and recreation area. As you can imagine, 48 Girls living in two flat take quite some organisation. They have one bathroom upstairs which will soon be converted into three showers. To give you an idea of how the living, eating and organisation of Home of Hope operates we have written "A day in the life at Home of Hope". It makes interesting reading and gives you an idea of the discipline required to make it a smooth process. TO DONATE:
