We are grateful and excited to share that Angela Yeung has safely completed her climb of Mount Elbrus!
For many, the news that she was summiting came as a surprise. One post, and suddenly she’d reached the top! There was a reason behind this.
Climbing a mountain is, as you might expect, a deeply challenging thing to do. Many dangers accompany it, as we’ve seen from tragic news in recent months. So a big part of her energy went into making sure she was well prepared, and giving her all to returning safely, sharing updates whenever she had signal, which on a mountain is limited.
Knowing the person Angela is, this wasn’t just a climb for a climb’s sake. As we’ve shared, this climb had one purpose: raising awareness for survivors of human trafficking, and advocating for their dignity. We’ll be sharing more on this throughout the month.
Though it’s a completely different set of challenges, those who have endured and are recovering from human trafficking face their own hidden climb, often with no support or cheering at each stage. We want to raise a banner, shout it from the mountains, and be a voice of support for them. We invite you to join us.
