On International Day of the Girl Child, we celebrate the strength, resilience, potential, and achievements of girls around the world. We also recognise the importance of creating equal opportunities that enable every girl to thrive and pursue her dreams.

When girls have access to education, support, and safe environments, they are empowered to reach their full potential, overcome challenges, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

At Rainbow Children’s Village, we believe every girl deserves to know her worth, find her voice, and grow up believing in her ability to achieve great things. Through our Safe House, Educate-a-Child Bursary Fund and Igugu Education Centre, we provide the love, care, and opportunities young girls need to build confidence and pursue their dreams. 🌈💖

A child’s wellbeing extends beyond their physical needs. It includes feeling safe, supported, understood, and valued. 💛

On World Mental Health Day, we shine a light on the importance of nurturing children's emotional and mental wellbeing alongside their education and development.

Children who have experienced adversity often need time, patience, and consistent support to heal and build resilience. Creating caring and secure environments where children can freely express themselves is an important part of that healing journey.

Research shows that half of all mental health challenges begin during childhood and adolescence, making early support one of the most effective ways to improve long-term wellbeing, resilience, and future outcomes.

At Rainbow Children’s Village, we provide the stability, care, and encouragement that help vulnerable children grow with confidence, resilience, and hope. 🌈

A birthday made extra special. ❤️

Instead of celebrating her birthday in the usual way, Bev Dupouy chose to spend the day with the children of Rainbow Children’s Village, bringing along KFC and other treats to share and enjoy together. 🍗🎂

A beautiful reminder that some of the best birthday memories are made by giving back and spending time with others.

THINKING BACK WITH THANKFUL HEARTS 💙

This Thankful Thursday, we say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our Charity Golf Day. ⛳️

Gratitude goes to all the corporates that took four balls and the golfers that participated, those that donated prizes for the four balls and raffle, as well as those that donated and bid on the auction items.

Together, we raised an incredible R320,000, with R160,000 being donated to Rainbow Children’s Village in support of our Educate-A-Child Programme.

Your generosity has provided vulnerable children with access to education, school fees, transport, uniforms, stationery, and the specialised support they need to thrive.

On World Teachers’ Day, we celebrate the dedicated educators who help shape young minds and create opportunities for children to grow and succeed.

Teachers do far more than share knowledge. They build confidence, nurture curiosity, and provide guidance that has a lasting impact on a child’s future.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the educators, tutors, and learning support staff at Sparrow Schools Educational Trust who support our Educate-a-Child learners and the dedicated aftercare teachers at our Igugu Education Centre who guide, encourage, and inspire our children every day.
