Today we reflect on International Day for the Protection of Children. 🛡️

Every child deserves to grow up safe, loved, and free from harm, fear, and neglect.
This should be a given, yet for many children it is still not their reality.

Protecting children is a shared responsibility that lives in everyday actions. It asks us to notice, care, speak up, and act where we can.

At Rainbow Children’s Village, we walk alongside vulnerable children every day, providing safe care, education, and support to help them heal, grow, and rediscover hope for the future. 💛🌈

At Rainbow Children’s Village, we honour the role of parents and caregivers in shaping safe, loving, and stable environments for children.

For those who cannot grow up with their biological families, we strive to provide the same foundation of love, care, and belonging through our safe house.

We recognise that family is not only defined by biology. Parents are the people who show up with love, patience, protection, and care for vulnerable children every single day.

Today, we want to especially thank the incredible house mothers at our safe house, whose compassion, strength, and dedication help create a true sense of home for the children in our care.🌈💛

This Child Protection Week, our aftercare teacher, Palesa, is taking us inside the Igugu Education Centre at Sparrow Schools. While the building provides shelter, it is the community and the environment that provide safety and growth.

To turn this classroom into the ultimate haven for our children, we are looking for:

A heartfelt thank you to every person who drops off donations at Rainbow Children’s Village. Your generosity touches more lives than you may ever realise.

Items we can use are distributed across our three projects — our Safe House, Educate-a-Child Programme, and Igugu Education Centre. Some special donated items are sold to help raise much-needed funds, and items we cannot use are shared with other organisations in need.

Because when charities support charities, communities grow stronger together 🌸

At Rainbow Children’s Village, we believe that every child deserves access to education that meets their needs, especially children who require specialised or neurodiverse learning support. Yet for many families, the cost is simply out of reach. Our Educate-A-Child Bursary Fund exists to bridge that gap.

Every boy deserves the chance to feel safe, supported, heard, and loved. They deserve positive role models, opportunities to learn and grow, and spaces where they can simply be children.

At Rainbow Children’s Village, we are proud to walk alongside the boys in our care as they build confidence, resilience, kindness, and hope for the future.
